The ones with the asterisks are Genesis exclusives.

But yeah, way worse than the SNES original mainly due to awkward controls.

I miss the days of a million ports too - back when every smash arcade game was ported to all the major consoles and various home computers. That was awesome.

Pro-tip for the Genesis version: 6-button controller.

It's one of the few games that makes use of the Mode button.

How many games make use of the 6-button pad?

Double Dragon on Atari 2600! Ghosts 'n Goblins on Commodore 16! Panzer Dragoon on R-Zone! StarCraft 64!

If developers of today followed the rules of yore we'd see something like Fallout 4 on PSP.

Oh, I've beaten it and found the 6-button pad almost mandatory. Still clunky compared the SNES, unfortunately. I've been meaning to get the Amiga CD32 port forever. That controller is really similar to the SNES controller (minus the select button) so I'm curious to see how it fares.

Looking up Lost Vikings 2 again and where are all the cool funky levels? The Candy Land stages in 1 might be my favorite haha. I think maybe that's why I've never been a huge fan of 2, or always replay 1 instead. Just had way cooler and wackier levels.

Quite a few. Pretty much all of the fighting games and many of the multi-platform titles and even some later exclusives. Around 93 or 94 it started to be more common. If you're going to have a Genesis, a 6-button controller is mandatory in my opinion. I honestly see it more as a hardware revision than an accessory.

I don't disagree that it's better on the SNES (it's the platform it was designed for after all), but I never had any real problems with the controls on the Genesis possibly just because I'm more at home with that controller.

First time I ever played the game was on PC. I was actually shocked to find out it was a SNES game later in life.

Yep. I've measured mine before to make sure I didn't overload a breaker; each cab was about 170 watts and that was candy cabs with 29" monitors and power hungry Naomi motherboards. My neo geo cab with a 20" monitor was more like 120 watts... so basically it's like leaving 2 or 3 light bulbs on. Not going to break the bank.

Net cities are labeled as 270 watts but that's just the startup draw for maybe 5 seconds. Once the tube kicks on they level out to about 170 tops.

Do cabs power up and down gracefully? Meaning, is it fine to turn them off when not in use, or should they really be left on most of the time despite the power draw?

Apparently the PSPs PSN store is going to be closed at the end of March in Japan.

Is there any PSP exclusive stuff on there worth looking at that isn't available physically?

How about PS1 classics? Any notable ones on there which aren't compatible with Vita?

I only turn mine on when I'm playing. Some monitors like to warm up for a little while but there's nothing wrong with turning them off when you're not playing.

What's up with the weird unique levels in Lemmings?

"What an AWESOME Level" (think that was the level title for this one)

Menacing, I'm still amazed this is on the SNES version.

There was the forest, and probably some others.

Man I love the art for this game though. The cool crystal cave stages are probably my favorites visually.
