I might need to get out more too....I seem to be in a rut trying to focus solely on pokemon yellow. I've gotten past misty, ss anne, and diglet cave and now in the underground tunnel but this tunnel seems be egging on forever and it's a little annoying now. The only thing I've played recently that's held my interest has been that NFS on gamecube at my cousin's house which i don't own so I can't play(legally). I feel like I get started and hooked on a game play it for a good bit then get bored way too easily. It's not fair since i want to actually beat these. Heck in FFA I've got chocobot, and have gotten to swim and now I'm lost so yeah(would be nice if someone had somehow come up with a hack to the ndslite/phat to make gbc carts work without needing a flash cart(though I'm half tempted to pull that stunt for my gbc games just so I have a more comfortable device to game with that's lit...). I just need something to snap me back into playing again...

Honestly at this point I feel like i need to randomly peruse my bookshelf for something to play at home...there's just too much I want to play and I can't seem to knock it down to just 1 or 2 to pick up now and play...

If I was to get my brothers little arcade cabinet, I believe it's for like a bar or something. It's a Williams arcade hits that has games like defender 1 and 2, bubbles, robotron, etc. Like ten games on it.
Anyways how much electricity does that run off if I leave it plugged in?
I'd figure to play it when I have people over and by myself. And then pull the plug but I'm not sure how much electrical outputs arcade cabinets put out. I have not gotten my bill yet and I hope it's not too expensive. But if I get this thing I don't want it to be like 200.00 for the month lol.

I think the average arcade cabinet has a power consumption between 100 and 120 watts. Most of it is the monitor, the actual board consumes very little.

After college I got a 360 and spent literal years off of Steam. I remember when Skyrim came out I wanted it for PC so I finally had to fire up Steam again and I shocked my college roommate.

Tomorrow I'm going to participate in STG Weekly! They are doing a Xevious episode and I'm going to be one of the hosts. We are going to be covering the most important games in the series (Xevious, Super Xevious, Xevious Arrangement and Xevious Resurrection) so you guys should get on the stream and say hi. It's at 12PM EST, IIRC.

:D :D :D

I just haven't played in my computer in all that time. I use Steam even for non-Steam games so I can take screenshosts easily so if I haven't touched it in 40 days, yeah, I haven't touched it at all.

I love Etrian Odyssey.

I'm pretty "meh" about Persona 3/4 (haven't played 1 or 2).

Would I like Persona Q?

I randomly checked out Earthworm Jim CD (Sega CD), and noticed it was pretty laggy and the music doesn't seem to be on par with the CD quality of 2. Then booted up the Genesis version and it runs so much better. I generally prefer SNES ports for multi games, but EWJ1 is the exception. It's also interesting how the Genesis does some colors better. I miss when ports were more interesting like this and the varied hardware gave us unique different sounding soundtracks.

Lost Vikings on the Genesis though... yikes, not a fan of that one.

Check out the extra levels for Genesis Lost Vikings.

The ones with the asterisks are Genesis exclusives.

But yeah, way worse than the SNES original mainly due to awkward controls.

I miss the days of a million ports too - back when every smash arcade game was ported to all the major consoles and various home computers. That was awesome.

If they were multi-disc games, you're looking at $9.99 yeah, but if you're patient they go on sale during the year. Square stuff will go 50% from time to time.

Otherwise I generally wait for PSOne offerings in flash sales, they go from $5.99 to $1.80 with PS+ most times.

It seems like it had more music too? Not sure where this fits:

I guess the game works better with the 6-pad. I love the Xbone controller, but for retro stuff it feels terrible. I'll have to get some of those retro USB controllers or make room to bust out my Genesis again sometime.

It's kind of neat how the CD version of Lost Vikings 2 is like a full blown remake. I actually grew up with the PSX version and love the music, but looking back on it... it looks kind of ugly now and the voice acting is a bit much. I've never played much of the SNES version, but it's looking a lot more appealing now.

Back when ports/remakes weren't even ports/remakes! Just another release of the game that turns out to look completely different!
