Wii-U thoughts so far

It is no joke, I played DQVII for hours and never got to a single battle.

Sold it.

This is when I was younger and yes I regret that, but wowzers. I'll never forget the experience.

I let my six-year-old daughter started playing Little Inferno this weekend. In it, you buy items from a catalogue, place them in your Little Inferno fireplace, and burn them. Different items burn in different ways, and you get money for burning things and creating different fire combinations (which you can then use to buy more things...to burn). There are no time limits; there is no score; and there is no failure state. There is a narrative, however; so, while Little Inferno pushes the limits of the term "game," it is nonetheless very engaging. (I turned up the difficulty for my daughter by making her read all of the game's text.) It is also incredibly charming and incredibly fun. (It was designed by the people behind World of Goo and Henry Hatsworth & The Puzzling Adventure, both of which are referenced in Little Inferno.) It is also very, very funny, and I am enjoying watching her play it. (I just wish she would let me play it a bit more... )

I highly recommend this unique "game" to anyone with a Wii U - the game plays wonderfully with the touch screen and was clearly designed for it - and I hope that some of you will pick it up from the eShop (along with the absolutely amazing Electronic Super Joy).

Little Inferno is a nice diversion for sure. I don't have it for the Wii U however I own it on PC. Spent some time with it. The art style is very World of Too which is fine by me.

When you have a moment, if you haven't already, you should check out World of Goo. I don't know if it's on the Wii U but I do know it's on the Wii eShop.

I was able to pick up a copy of Splatoon for $25 at Walmart yesterday which is a great deal and Disney Infinity 2.0 for $19. The thing that surprised me though is that I was looking as other Wii U games and saw that that there was a retail version of Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams Director's Cut. Wha??? I had no idea this even existed. Has anyone tried this game?

I bought it from TRU, it just came out earlier this month after being delayed over several months. haven't played it but thought I should buy it as it may quickly disappear from shelves quietly as I doubt it will sell well.

So minecraft was released the other day. My wife was like, "So can we buy it?" I own the game in pc but she finds it uncomfortable to play in an office chair and wanted to play together on the couch. I couldn't resist and we have jumped in and are having a blast. She is an extreme newbie to the game and I have put in more hours than I would like to admit so it is fun to work together on precis and let her figure things out while I do more of the legwork in gathering resources.

About time minecraft came out on the system. Wish they used the gamepad more, but nope!

Really? Cool. I was wondering about a physical release when I saw the announcement, but couldn't figure out if it was digital only or not.
