I think the same "mainstream" happened back when SFII was in the arcade and then released for the SNES and Genesis

Yeah, but back then the fighting genre wasn't even clearly defined, and the majority of gamers wanted more depth in games back then. Now, with the fighting genre clearly defined, I believe making it go mainstream will mean cutting a lot of the edges to make a smoother experience for anybody to just pick up and play.

So, I say, sit back and welcome a whole new generation of button-mashers.

i havent played it yet, but i have seen videos of it... what happened to chun li? she used to be so hot... now from the waste down she looks like blanka... sorry if any of the character names are misspelled, but my dog is biting me trying to get me to play with her

You know I'm really tempted to wait for the PC version so I don't have to put up with the terrible 360 controls for fighting games. I'd much rather use my USB arcade stick to play it.

After hearing about the poor quality of the d-pads on the 360 madcatz SFIV controllers and hearing that they are going to be at least £45 over here (FORTY-FIVE FUCKING ENGLISH POUNDS FOR A FUCKING WIRED CONTROLLER!!!) I really don't fancy getting it on 360 at all, not without a decent way of playing it, I hate playing fighters with controllers unless it's the Saturn pad/megadrive 6 button.

I really don't want to buy it on PS3 since it is going to cost me more to play it and with no doubt poor multiplayer support just like most PS3 games. The PC version looks the most appealing to me.

Just a bit bummed about it coming out in June. I just hope it's worth the wait.

Man, PS3 games are still more expensive across the pond? What a backwards way of doing things.

I dunno, I just can't see getting a fighting game for the PC. The last way I want to play a fighting game is with the legions of cheap-skates that dominate the online experience.

Of course, if you've got a set-up going where you can have a crowd of people gathered around your computer, then it would work. The only time I was ever able to pull something like that off was back at college, when the computer and television were right next to each other.
