Well, that's pretty fucked up. Sounds like you tried to politely decline for a good reason (going to a stranger's wedding seems weird to me) and they projected.

Well I'm not gonna discuss this too much more since I can see my horrendous Breitbart-tier shit is going over like a lead balloon, but yeah, going to an actual Muslim country changed my whole view on that religion. Turkey is supposedly the most secular, Westernized Islamic country out there and it's still shit.Pulsar_t wrote:His rotation in Turkey must have triggered latent prejudice genes
The base I was at had a Syrian refugee camp about 20 minutes away, since Turkey was way ahead of the curve on the whole refugee thing, being right on the border. I literally can't remember how many times we had to lock down the place because there was a suicide van driving around somewhere in the local area, or there were violent protests at the gate, or ISIS had been spotted in the local area looking for Americans to kidnap. That stuff doesn't really get in the news because the Turkish government censors and suppresses a lot of crap, but it happens all the time.

Speaking of Turkey, Putin is not a happy camper.

Why isn't anyone serious about resolving this conflict? As shown yesterday it could spiral out of control and lead to some serious warfare. Putin and Erdogan know that their mutual interests outweigh the downing of this Fencer, and in a way it was payback for Putin bombing ethnic Turkmen militant groups. I hate this war bullshit

Anyone see ISIS's new English video? I'm constantly stunned at how highly produced they are. If this is what their Arabic ones are like, it's no wonder they're so successful at internet recruiting.

How many of the Paris attackers were delinquents? Those people are so easily recruitable. Offer them salvation and any asking price is too cheap.

Both are dictators that are not afraid to make their people suffer as long as it helps them hold on to power. They play with forces that can (and have) gotten way out of their control, and in the long run their countries will go through decades of wasted potential and back tracking into 3rd world country status because of them.Pulsar_t wrote:Why isn't anyone serious about resolving this conflict? The only difference is that Erdogan doesn't mind seeing his country on fire and his countrymen actually being murdered on the street (opposed to Putin, who only likes his countrymen killed when they are fighting abroad). The other major difference, is that while one is a clear opponent of the west who has been punished with economic sanctions, the other one is having his ego boosted by the US not twisting this dictator's arm till he gets into place, and the Europeans being too stupid that they think it's a better idea to appease this dictator than accept in more refugees.
If it wasn't for the fact that I feel sorry for the actual normal people of Russia and Turkey (though the Turkish people booing the moment of silence for the Paris victim during the friendly football game against Greece, doesn't help with me to continue caring as much), I would say kick Turkey out of NATO and let the two dictators fight it out. (though then we'd probably have a Turkish refugee problem, since Russia would kick their ass without NATO support).

At this point it's like he wants to quit and he's purposely trying to sabotage his own polling numbers to justify stepping out but no matter what he says his supporters only love him more.Pulsar_t wrote:
