What was the last movie you've seen?

James Bond is a cold war relic, he should retire. Anyone with half a brain knows there are no good guys on the intelligence scene. Chinese audiences clamouring to watch him is absurd.

Didn't see the first one, went in with moderate expectations, came out pleasantly surprised. I mean it's not perfect, but the two hours went by without any cringing so that's got to be good.

Yes, every single member of the intelligence community twirls their moustaches as they try to take away your nebulous concept of freedom.

A more realistic contemporary spy movie is Cleanskin.

Well, "James Bond is a cold war relic and should just quit," has been a running theme in the Craig films.

Spoilery Bond talk.
Shit that had me rolling my eyes.

Bond literally has his brain probed with a drill twice and yet there are no side effects  . Hell he is back on his feet and killing people within a minute even though his nemesis tells him he is damaging the centers of the brain devoted to vision, balance, and recognition :P .

I love how he shoots a single explosive barrel/pipe something in one scene and it somehow causes a chain reaction that blows up a 5+ acre solar farm / satellite array. Was Michael Bay the bases architect or something??? Seriously an assault rifle shouldn't be able to destroy your entire facility with a single well placed shot.

Once again that freaking amazing marksmanship. Bond shoots down a helicopter from 2000+ feet away while riding in a boat bouncing around on a river. Sure it takes him 5 shots but holy shit that must be the mythical golden gun there.

The whole father figure and adoptive brother BS was also cheesy and an obvious "twist".

Am I the only one who saw the explosion scene as being a series of carefully placed detonations? It was not triggered by Bond's shot, it was the "shit, he's escaped" contingency.

More Bond:

Yeah, this made absolutely no sense. Blofeld's aim with those tiny drills was just really bad I guess? I'm not sure what they wanted me to think here. The magical power of Bond's force of will overcame the debilitating physical injuries? The power of love made sure he'd never forget her face?

There is absolutely no explanation. Nobody even questions how he's fine.

I don't feel like the ultimate destruction was Bond's doing. I took it as Spectre self-destructing the place to cover it up. Maybe I'm wrong but it seemed reasonable to me.

Stupid? Yes, but I've come to accept that in Bond films the Walther PPK has pseudo-mystical properties.

Yep, complained about this one earlier. All I could think of was the Austin Powers sequel where Dr. Evil is revealed to be Austin's brother. It was almost self-parodying in its silliness.

Maybe it was the whole movie was just a check book of how to get yourself into shitty situations and then survive thanks to an even dumber villain.

Kamen Rider Gaim Gaiden: Kamen Rider Zangetsu/Kamen Rider Baron

A pair of side stories set in the Kamen Rider Gaim series.

The first story is focused on Takatora (Micchy's brother), aka Kamen Rider Zangetsu, who is working on Project ARK (I can't remember where in the show's timeline this was, but it was after Sid became Kamen Rider Sigurd. When a young woman from his childhood reappears he discovers a greater conspiracy in his late father's company and a Kamen Rider with the power of the experimental Ringo Lockseed, which allows the Rider to open Cracks between our world and Helheim.

The second story is focused on Kaito Kumon, aka Kamen Rider Baron, who ends up roped into a "Prince and the Pauper"-esque situation with a foreign prince. But it's discovered that the prince has a target on his back and is soon targeted by Kamen Rider Tyrant, with a dragon fruit motif (much like the Ringo Lockseed had a red apple motif).

Good, and apparently another pair of side stories, revolving around Kamen Rider Duke and Kamen Rider Knuckle, came out in Japan two weeks ago this Wednesday. Like all Gaim Gaiden releases, they are all short direct-to-video releases in Toei's V-Cinema series that serve as either prequels, sequels or interquels (like the two I watched last night) in the show's continuity.
