Final Fantasy 8?

It was critically loved, hated by fans of 7. Now, most people have turned around and seen how amazing it is.

I'm predicting the same with 13, as that was critically loved as well, hated by most fans.

Also, I love both (^_^)

What about folks like me who didn't like 7 or 8?

I didn't like them either. I've partly come around to 7 in small doses years apart, but 8 I'm more surprised more people haven't come around to see how broken the system that game uses. :)

It's fantastic! In my mind it's second only to 6.

Of course, it's all a matter of opinion, but I was under the impression that people had more or less come around on 8. Perhaps I was wrong.

IX trumps everything but VI. ... Wait a minute where was the unpopular gaming opinions thread again?

Yeah I was going to say too that I thought it was FF9 that people had come around on. It was very well reviewed but when it came out it wasn't nearly as well received by the general public as 7 or 8.... I personally love 7 but then again I am not exactly the RPG expert to judge these kinds of things.

I love VII too, which increasingly seems to be somewhat of an "unpopular opinion", with the backlash it has from some fans due to how highly rated it has become.

Other than VI, no FF game has engaged me and grabbed hold of my attention more than VII.

My friends and I dismissed Kirby Super Star as "same old shit, different cover." No idea what the reviews were then. But now it's way up there for me, top 25 SNES game for sure
