There's no doubt that there are many verses like this in the Quran. The difficult and dangerous part is determining when someone is "waging war". Islam, like all other Abrahamic religions, is very much open to interpretation. Your version of "true" Islam is very much dependent on how you choose to perceive it. As another member said, you could call it apostasy if someone wants to stray from the literal wording of the Quran but by those standards Reform Jews aren't "real" Jews and the vast majority of Christians aren't "real" christians. The same thing applies to all the polls of people who want Sharia as law. One man's view on Sharia can and will be vastly different than another's. As I previously stated, one could state that at its true heart Islam is violent and I'd say eh sure, kinda but then do you honestly want "true" muslims? If you ask me, bring on the "fake" ones please.Erik_Twice wrote:The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger[/b], and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter.

No, I'm not implying genocide. But speaking of Nazism, that brings me to my next point: Islam should have some of the same restrictions placed on it that Nazism does. No sale of Islamic material to people under 18, no displaying Islamic material in public, a complete indefinite halt on Islamic immigration, and all "refugees" who have already entered should be expelled.Pulsar_t wrote:I think he was inferring genocide.pepharytheworm wrote:All right, now after the people wake up then what? Ban the religion, more oppression and violence?BoringSupreez wrote:Let's see if this wakes some people up. Islam is a religion of violence and has no place in civilized society. Let's stop pretending otherwise.
I say Islamaphobia has no place in a civilized society. But even if you exterminate +1 billion people, the idea will live on. Nazism is only a few decades old and it's still alive and kicking even if it's on the fringe currently. The only ideology I don't see coming back is Bolshevism, it was an aberration in history and got corrected accordingly.
If it's reasonable to crack down on one ideology, I don't see any reason why it's not ok to do it to another, especially when it presents a clear and present danger.
Just to be clear, I'm just saying Europe should do this - not the US, since our constitution doesn't allow that sort of thing. America should halt immigration from Islamic countries, though, which would not be unconstitutional and has historical precedent (we halted Chinese immigration once). In fact, several states have already declared that they won't be accepting Syrian refugees over the last few days.

Crikey, that's some appalling bigotry right there.
Re: So the whole world is kind of falling apart...
I think a post comparing Islam to National Socialism can only be read as a willing ignorance to understand anything about either. It's bullshit, stupid, offensive, and not the kind of discourse I'd typically expect to find on the forums. This shit belongs in the comments section of a Breitbart article or on a militia group's forum: not here.MrPopo wrote:What the fuck?

Let's be fair. It also belongs on YouTube.dsheinem wrote:I think a post comparing Islam to National Socialism can only be read as a willing ignorance to understand anything about either. Also, regardless of the other problems with the post in question...the Chinese Exclusion Act(CEA) was not a "good" idea. It was borne from blatant racism and prejudice aimed at a group attempting to immigrate to this country based on the mistaken belief that they were hindering gold prospecting and depressing wage levels by taking low-wage jobs because that was the only work they could get.
The result of the CEA? The breakup of families and the banning of forming new families, legalized discrimination, a massive increase in human smuggling and organized crime, immigrants being rendered permanent aliens, the banning of reentry for any ethnic Chinese regardless of how long they were in the United States before the law or where they were born(so British citizens of Chinese descent were banned), the forced registration of citizens, and the barring of citizens to petition. It also resulted in the boycott of US goods in China, the Chinese government refusing to recognize our ambassadors, and a backlash from the government of Mexico. It's also worth noting that while Chinese immigration ceased, it was immediately replaced by Japanese immigration until all peoples of East Asia were banned from immigrating via the National Origins Act of 1924.
At its core, the CEA hurt the US' international credibility, was an ineffective tool for alleviating the problems it was supposed to combat, and ultimately ran counter to the very beliefs and virtues under which our nation was founded. It did little more than openly air the Caucasian racist undercurrent of US history and broadcast our failure to live up to our supposed ideals.

Re: So the whole world is kind of falling apart...
I've been avoiding this conversation but I'm getting kind of aggravated.
Wow. Just wow.
I'm all for criticizing religions and philosophies for their faults. I do it a lot. There are plenty of examples of Christian extremism I find harmful to society and if the geopolitical situation of a Christian west and Islamic middle east were reversed things would likely not be different.
I am not at all for persecuting groups based on their beliefs or stripping them of their freedoms of speech and expression, neither in the US or abroad.
Islam is a religion that millions practice without incident.
The Islamic State is a violent and theocratic political movement that sponsors terrorist activity and uses religious extremism to justify its activities and recruit members.
If people can't understand the difference then I don't know what else to say. If you want to help IS swell their ranks then go ahead and give their propaganda some weight by making Islam itself the enemy.
And there's very good reasons for that.BoringSupreez wrote:Just to be clear, I'm just saying Europe should do this - not the US, since our constitution doesn't allow that sort of thing.

Wow, comparing Islam to Nazism isn't right at all and talking about deporting millions of people who profess their religion peacefully is beyond extreme.
