I'm glad someone else pointed this out before I did. It means I don't live in a perceptual bubble. I'm not assuming we're going to recreate our peak of popularity, but if we do intend to attract new traffic in to read article and participate in the forums, something needs to be done to smooth out the up-time issues the site has had over the past couple years.
i'm familiar with hootsuite and use it for facebook/twitter/instagram pretty regularly. i will happily be unofficial social media coordinator. i'll look into a few things and draft a modest proposal.

As nice as this is, please remember that Racketboy.com does not officially condone the consumption of babies.
So the site got moved to a lower tier server. This was something done by the hosting company and we will be moving to a better server soon. That should alleviate 90% of the downtime issues. Ashamedly it took us far too long for us to figure out that that is what happened.
My 2 cents: some of the existing site articles need updates, at least the "rarest and most valuable" and "cheapest" game ones. Just look at The Best Sega Saturn Games Under $25. You're not getting NiGHTS for $13, kiddo.

I think Racket boy has a lot of users from the same generation and similar way of thinking its hard to join a group of people when they are already closed off in my opinion.
Sadly this is a problem with many online forums as mobile communities and Facebook groups and such for retro games are taking over.

People also use sites for functionality these days like a lot of these retro sites allow keep track of games your playing, or keeping track of what you own and such.
Maybe racket boy could make an app with an organized version of all the lists made on here.
In the younger generation SNES, and Genesis and PS1 games are starting to get renewed interest so an App having a neat way to explore hidden gems, and such for each system would be of an interest to people.

I went back and found some polls concerning this, including one that I made myself. It seems to me that this site consistently attracts members primarily in the age range of 20-40. Whether or not that's a "broad age" versus other gaming forums I have no idea.
That might as well read 'This site attracts an audience of people in an age range that is likely to have a sense of nostalgia for older video games and very likely some sort of disposable income that they can afford to spend on the hobby'
To which I say....well, yes. Who else are we meant to be attracting to a retro gaming site?
