Best Single-card DS games?

Post by Pingfa »

Eh?

On a side note, does anyone else get a communication error with Download Play with Mario Kart?

I am pretty sure every game for DS is a single-card game.

He meant single-card multiplayer.

Daigasso! Band Brothers is really good for single card play. It's an import and takes a bit of time with an FAQ to learn what all the menu options are, but the actual gameplay is import friendly. Basically it's like Guitar Hero, but for any instrument (8 face buttons and two shift keys). It even has a decent midi editor for creating custom songs which work over the download play.

I was very impressed with that feature on Bleach: Dark Souls.

I do have Bleach: Blade of Fate which works fine with Download Play - plan on getting Dark Souls at some point.

With Mario Kart, my friend's name appears on screen, but when I click cut off I lose signal and he gets as far as the Nintendo logo showing on screen - shortly afterwords I get a message saying there was a communication error. I've tried over and over, but with no luck.

New Super Mario Bros has a great single-card multiplayer game called Mario VS. Luigi. One player plays as Mario and the other as Luigi and the first to get however many stars the goal was set as wins. You can steal stars from the other player by hurting them with fireballs, hitting them with items, jumping on them, etc. It's pretty addicting and rarely seems to get old.

Ill second New Super Mario Bros - it is a fun romp in single cart multiplayer.
My favorite is still Bomberman DS, cliche I know. I bought it when it came out for $25, took it to a con shortly after, and everyone who joined had a blast. Random stage, Random rules, bring it. The best 8 player single cart I think you are going to find, Band Brothers comes close though.
