Post by mjmjr25 »

Greetings,

UPDATE - after a mini-rush; we are again without items coming in. As of now we sit under 15 total items from 6 members. I know there are people who plan to donate things and I know there are a lot of people who look forward to bidding - but...WE NEED THINGS TO BID ON...SOON! Please take a pic and send in your items today!

List of Possible Donation Recipients:
Able Gamers: http://www.ablegamers.com/
Extra Life (part of Childrens' Miracle Network Hospitals): http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?
TBD Racket Member: Self or Family via private application (no applications, it will be a run-off between Extra Life and Able Gamers)

2015 Charity Auction Schedule:
11.12-11.19 - Donation Recipient Selected
11.12-11.25 - Call for Items
11.25-11.30 - List finalized; last-minute items allowed. Hard cut-off on 12.1
12.2 - 12.26 - Auction begins; auction ends at 11pm EST (there is grace-period rolling end in 3 minute increments. Hard end at 11:29:59 for any items still receiving bids. Racketboy.com post timestamp is the be-all / end-all)
12.26-1.17 - Winners will be given 3 weeks to make all payments to the charity paypal address
1.17-1.31 - Winners and donors will be connected via PM's. Donors are expected to ship no later than 1.31

Call for Items:
Good: Unique items, valuable items, one-off items, rare items, electronics, complete games (disc based)
Not Good: Non-working items, very low value, "lots" of low value items, poor condition, items that cost more to ship than they auction for

Send donation list to me - Item format as follows (this will be in the next post, all you have to do is hit "PM" on my profile, fill in the info that appears quoted on the PM screen, type in your forum ID followed by AUCTION in the subject line and hit send)

Yay! It's that time of year again! I've got a nice little pile of stuff to donate this year.

Not as we were hoping...I know every year there is this last minute rush of people wanting to get something in...but we like to avoid that and have a nice robust list on day 1 of the reveal. As of now we have exactly (3) items (2 are mine).

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get those items listed and PM'd.

I am PM'ing you right now Mike with some for sure items and then over the next couple of days I will try to dig a little deeper into the collection to come up with some things to auction.

My personal goal right now is to provide at least $200 worth of items and to be able to spend at least $200 on buying. I'd like to help out in any other way if possible too...

I'd like to add that most years the home made items are some of the most memorable and desirable items up for auction. Where are our t-shirt, artwork, pixel art, 3d printer, dvd, custom cart artists, etc at? Give us a reason to donate! 8)
