This makes me feel better. I will probably go through it on my PSP with save states at some point. At that point, I will consider it done.Key-Glyph wrote:All right, I'll admit it. Ecco the Dolphin is pretty much my most important series of all time, but I've always needed to cheat to get past one particular level of the first game. All this time I've considered it beaten anyway, because as a kid I'd die before I even knew what to do, and I just considered it too unfair.
I'll go back and do it right soon. Then I'll consider it completed.

I agree, I think it's the hardest FPS I've beaten as well. As much as Ack enjoys his PC shooters, I think he should take it on. We could be his support group, because as you know anyone taking that game on needs one.ExedExes wrote:I've never seen an FPS as tough a this.

All this Ecco talk reminds me I've never beaten either of those games. Years ago I dated a girl who loved that series. She beat them legit on Genesis, I remember watching her play the second one and thinking it looked pretty damned hardcore for being a Dolphin puzzle game or whatever that series is supposed to be. (Funny I don't ever hear anyone talk about the 3D version that came out on Dreamcast and PS2.)

I played it for a bit. It's a pretty good game. It quickly gets just as hard frustrating as its 2D predecessors, however.Exhuminator wrote:(Funny I don't ever hear anyone talk about the 3D version that came out on Dreamcast and PS2.)

The closest thing to an ending happens when you get the credits in your mailbox after getting married. So if you've been married in the game, you have essentially beaten it.Forlorn Drifter wrote: Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life[/b] Make it to the second year, find the monotony of living on a farm with a wife who says one repeated phrase maddening, while already having the best available cattle in the game, start over, marry different girl, repeat until I sold the game. Whoops, I read this as Friends of Mineral Town for some reason.
You can see, on the first page of this very thread, my opinions on A Wonderful Life where I say the very same thing about it having an ending!

I would be willing to do this, but unfortunately something happened with the rights to the PC version of GRAW in the last year, and Ubisoft has pulled it from both Steam and UPlay. Ubisoft has also apparently refused to tell folks why the game got pulled, though it might have to do with another company owning the rights to the game's engine.Exhuminator wrote:I agree, I think it's the hardest FPS I've beaten as well. Dude if you'll actually try to beat this game, I will send you a legit hard copy of it FOR FREE. Just PM your address. Reading your tales of surviving its insanity is totally worth it.Ack wrote:I would be willing to do this, but unfortunately something happened with the rights to the PC version of GRAW in the last year, and Ubisoft has pulled it from both Steam and UPlay. From back in the day:
Wings 2: Aces High - It's a WWI bi-plane game for those who are not familiar. I was decent at the game but could never beat it as a kid. I haven't tried it again as an adult but I really should give it an honest shot.
All Shmups: I suck REALLY bad at them, when I was a kid and now.
As an adult:
Shinobi 3: I just can't get past the falling rock level. Although, the entire game got a lot easier when someone finally told me that I could block.

Give it a shot then! We will provide moral support. I rented that one back in the day too because I thought it was going to be like Pilot Wings. It is not like Pilot Wings.marlowe221 wrote:Wings 2: Aces High - It's a WWI bi-plane game for those who are not familiar. I was decent at the game but could never beat it as a kid. Well, looks like I'll be attempting the GRAW challenge:
Play through Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter on PC
Normal difficulty
No cheats or mods
11 levels of pure pain from what I can tell.
Can I name my squad mates? I want to name them Phukface, xero, Scorpion, Fastbilly1, Xentrix, and Vandyl. It will make me feel more at home when one of them screws up and I get fragged as a result.
