The computer versions of Lemmings are infinitely better than the console ports, Key.

You can still find the DOS CD-ROM version for <$10.

This is true, but I don't want to buy another version of a game I already have. I am bound to beating the Genny port. :D

There is only one for me: Legacy of the Wizard for NES. I swore as a kid I'd beat it some day and vowed never to cheat. I feel like I've been on every map screen in the game. If memory serves me I've even found every item. What I can't find however are any of the bosses. I need to make a map. The game was just so big when I was younger it seemed impossible.

Some day. Some day.

I didn't enjoy the forklift racing either. Probably because I've driven many fork lifts in real life, and the game's physics were completely wrong and threw me off. I did enjoy the idea of these guys actually having forklift races on the clock. ( In real life it probably wouldn't go so well. )

Isn't the Genesis one a completely different game?

Here are some of mine:

Kaboom! (2600) - I am pretty good at this game, and I really like it. Reaching 3000 points seems like an impossible goal, and I am not sure I will ever earn the "patch" for this game.

Burgertime (Arcade) - I recognize that Burgertime is a great arcade game, and I am slowly learning its mechanics. I have spent a lot of time with it, but "looping" the game is going to be really, really hard.

Virtua Racing (Arcade) - I should be good at this, and I recognize it is a good, groundbreaking game. Getting a gold medal on all three of its tracks takes a lot of practice, however, and I just can't be bothered with it so long as entries in the Mario Kart and Sonci Racing series remain unbeaten.

Zaxxon (Arcade) - I just can't get the hang of this one, and I am not sure I will ever beat it without torturing myself.

Ecco the Dolphin (Genesis) - Ecco is my "white dolphin" game. I have made three attempt to beat this game, and I recognize its qualities. I just can't seem to stick with it long enough to get through it, however.

Perfect Dark (N64) - I still love Goldeneye; so, I really have no excuse for not completing this classic. I guess there are just many superior FPS games available today, and since it is not my favorite genre, I don't play too many of them.

Arkanoid (NES) - I love "breakout" games, and I usually do pretty well with them. This game, however, can go and jump in lake. It is just too hard.

Clash at Demonhead (NES) - This is such a great game, and it is a lot of fun. I have never really understood what I am supposed to do, however, and I always give up on it. (I should just play it with a walkthrough someday.)

Legacy of the Wizard (NES) - Ditto.

Einhander (PS1) - I am pretty good at shmups, but I have never beaten this game for some reason. I don't think it is supposed to be all that hard, and I should make another attempt at it sometime. (I haven't really played it since I was a teenager, and I feel like I have some unfinished business.)

Burnout 3: Takedown (Xbox) - I should love this game, but apparently I don't since I have never beaten it.

There were also drivable forklifts that were completely unrealistic in Battlefield 2 if I recall correctly. We used to have a couple of guys jump on the front of the lift and crouch down while a third would drive, turning the whole thing into a mobile turret of M-16s. And then the driver would inevitably go off a cliff and kill everyone.

Good times.

Only two games come to mind:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES) - I've gotten inside the Technodrome, but never been able to finish it off. The problem now is time more than anything. Getting there takes a while, and I might need to get there several times before actually getting a win. Damn this game was unfairly difficult at times.

Nightshade (NES) - A game from my childhood that I rented and made great progress with, but never finished. It's a bit more obscure, but last year I stumbled into a copy of game and had ambitions of playing and beating it. The problem here is the same as above: just don't have the block of time required to sit down and play NES titles right now. One day Sutekh will be mine, though!
