Wasn't there also a cable out there that allowed you to directly connect a vmu to a pc? Or am I just crazy?

Probably the latter...

Oh man Sylviana (Famicom Disk System) has some brutal forced grinding.

Ya know the beginning of Ys: The Vanished Omens? It's worse than that.

Kalin no Tsurugi is a lot of fun. Battles are initiated in the Zelda II fashion, by running into little enemy avatars that scoot around the overworld - but the combat itself involves utilizes the Ys "bump" system. This kind of thing was apparently really prevalent in old unlocalized action-RPGs.

What's weird is that I'm a couple of hours in and haven't found any dungeons. Just a big overworld and lots of towns.

I'm about to be on vacation for a week in the Florida Keys. So I'm bringing my laptop for various reasons. Figured I might as well load a game on it for while I'm away. So I installed Legend of Grimrock via GOG tonight. I played it a bit to see if it was gonna fit the bill, clearing the first dungeon floor. So far I really enjoy it, and it seems well designed and quite atmospheric. I remember reading a lot of people saying they enjoyed this one. Actually I meant to play this years ago... but there's so many games and so little time. HLTB says the average clear time for this is 20 hours... it's not outside the realm of possibility I could beat this while on vacation.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Hey man, let us know how it is. I've been curious about Grimrock for years but never picked it up.

Also, have fun on vacation!

Yeah Grimrock looks neat. Perhaps if it goes on sale in the future I'll grab it.

I've entered the first dungeon of Kalin no Tsurugi - my character is at level 22!

I've been playing The Last Story all day today, and I'm having a blast. I'm about to sail to the Gurak Military Base which I think is about 1/3 to 1/2 way through the game.

I wish I didn't have work tomorrow, I'd happily stay up all night playing on.

Just beat Mass Effect 2. Glitch had a crew member die even though they were loyal. That stinks.
