What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Yes I had a Russian professor who could hardly speak English and had a heavy Russian accent teaching Spanish 203
. It was his first semester teaching so none of us knew what to expect going in he definitely wasn't my first choice, but the other classes filled before I got a chance to choose. Since he had a hard time understanding us he just did spelling quizzes pretty much every day with about 100+ words to memorize each week it was a real drag
.

Today I somewhat audibly farted in front of an executive at the university I work at and they didn't notice (or at least didn't say anything).

If the instructor thought you were cheating the most likely response would have been to take the test away and kick you out of class.Forlorn Drifter wrote:Got an appointment with a counselor for this week and next week set up, finally. Hopefully it will all work out.

While taking an exam today the professor pulled me and put me at the front of the class. I normally wouldn't have thought much of it, but he had a long discussion about cheating before the exam, and was standing near to me when he pulled me. I fear he may think I was cheating. I wasn't, but I can see how my nervous twitches and head movement might look like that when I'm the only one in the room doing that. I won't have any real defense against it if Academic Charges get brought forth, so... I might get kicked out of school...

I suspected that possibility when you mentioned the frequent urination. Despite what some folks think, age has nothing to do with this.darsparx wrote:- waiting on bloodwork to see if I have diabetes somehow(it does run in the family....so far my grandmother has it and my aunt had it for a short period from what I recall during her last pregnancy....). I was diagnosed with diabetes around 25-26. To this day, the first thing most people say to me is "but you're so young!" (followed by "but you're not fat"). Fact is, that doesn't always matter.
Anyway, I'm babbling and I'm sorry, I don't mean to scare you or anything.
What I'm trying to get at is I sincerely hope the tests come back clean and you're not diabetic.
Shit's no fun.

Yeah I don't like the idea of pricking fingers and such...especially since I wouldn't be surprised if more so it's caused by my sudden gain in weight since the last time I'd seen the doctor...that would be nice if it does come back as having it(even though they'd be strange since I would've gotten it the last time I weighed this much...I'm really going to have to see if I can get my mom to help me stick to a diet and preferably the whole foods, it sounds like the less painful route to go...)

You're probably right. I looked up the rules on such things, and while there aren't any specifics on what happens while caught in the act, I don't imagine he would have let me finish the test, and more than likely would have said something while I left/emailed me by now.Cronozilla wrote: If the instructor thought you were cheating the most likely response would have been to take the test away and kick you out of class.

I had an instructor whom was very explicit about cheating and what he would do, I believe his exact words were, "I will do everything in my power to end your academic career".
At my university it seemed to be a very common attitude. Cheating would result in zero tolerance and immediate action.
