I thought I already mentioned it.
I've tested several times with with my retail NeoCD games and none of them would work on either of my three Dreamcasts using Neo4all/CD. I tested FFS, RBS, SS1, and LB2. In each case, I had to make a rip of the game to play it.
I was in the same situation as you, and planned to buy a whole load of cheap neocd games in anticipation of the emulator maturing. The emu remained inaccurate and retail games unplayable. So I just bought a 2 slot and some MVS carts.
