the Earthbound cult

Post by glynnahab »

I've been to starmen.net before, but I'd never seen this until just a few minutes ago:

I've never played the game, but always wanted to. Seeing this has just convinced me, I think. But now that Nintendo said they definitely won't be releasing it on the Virtual Console, I guess I'm stuck with emulation.

Now if only I could kick my wife off the Wii and her beloved Dr. Mario.... :x

there is always emulation on the wii... which... is what the virtual console is without the "channels".

I suggest you do, if not just to see what all the hype is about. It's a fantastic experience and if you get into the other games in the series, it only gets better. I'd recommend trying to find one at a flea market or yard sale before playing on an emulator. There are really neat backgrounds in battle the scenes that I've witnessed acting a bit funky while playing with emulators. Regardless, please enjoy. It's amazingly fun.

Yeah, but I lack the tools (Twilight Princess and SD card) and the knowledge to get the homebrew channel up and running. I'd feel like a complete dumbass if I bricked my Wii.

I plan on using my Xbox to emulate it. (I didn't do much of the work to mod the Xbox.)

I completely understand. Besides the wii i have never modded a "current gen" system. I was pretty paniced when i did do it. When you do go through the motions, at several points it gives you a moment to back out, which i think only increased my panic.

it is nice using the classic controller for snes games though! :)

I guess I wouldn't mind running into a copy of this at Goodwill. I recently got an SNES I could play it on.

on amazon and ebay, it looks as though the cheapest used copy is around $80.00, so good luck finding that at good will, lol.
