marurun, one of my cats did the same thing with fleas, we bought these on a recommendation of someone we know who has 30 cats:
They are half price on Amazon over retail. In an hour, I started getting bit by the fleas. In a day, the cats stopped plucking. In a week, the cats stopped the crazy licking. In two weeks there were no fleas in the house that we could find. Two months on, still no fleas or plucking.

Glad it worked out for you fast, but 30 cats is past the line of "aww, she loves kitties" and "she's crazy", so I would have found her advice suspect.

Thanks for the advice, fast. If what we're doing doesn't work I may go that route.
The vet gave us 2 days of Capstone pills, which causes fleas to start jumping ship within 30 minutes. And 2 days is long enough for the Frontline Plus to take over, which it has done quite nicely. I combed Fink over with a flea comb day before yesterday in the most affected area and found neither flea nor flea dirt. Yay!
We've also treated the sofa, chair, and fancy beanbag with growth inhibitor spray. We'll hold off spraying the carpet until we move out in a few months and keep the cats on Frontline until then. Fortunately, there were only a few, and only on Fink, so there aren't enough to start attacking my wife and I. They're just starving to death, essentially. Which is OK by me.
And Madeline is now home. She's still a little unwell, but she's eating and keeping food down. Fink apparently didn't miss her at all. In fact, he's pissed she's back, and likes to express that at her when he gets the chance. *sigh*

It started as she loves kitties, with three. Then she was working at a rescue that closed down and she ended up with a bunch of cats so they didnt die. So she pretty much runs an unlicensed rescue out of her house.MrPopo wrote:Glad it worked out for you fast, but 30 cats is past the line of "aww, she loves kitties" and "she's crazy", so I would have found her advice suspect.
