Together Retro: Grim Fandango
Yes the article is not up yet and it is still the month of D, BUT the Humble Weekly Bundle just updated and has Grim Fandango for $13, along with many other quality titles.
If you have not picked it up yet, this is a perfect time to grab it.

Nice! For $2 less than the Steam version I'll grab this and get a bunch of bonus games. Plus, my wife has been wanting to play Costume Quest.

Wooo, got my copy in a sale a while ago, looking forward to it.

Re: Together Retro: Grim Fandango
Steam's Halloween sale just went live today as well featuring the game for $5.09. I know that there are some that avoid Steam on principle (particularly where GOG offers the same game), but geez it's hard to go wrong for a measly five bones!fastbilly1 wrote:Yes the article is not up yet and it is still the month of D, BUT the Humble Weekly Bundle just updated and has Grim Fandango for $13, along with many other quality titles.
At any rate ... choices! Always good to have a variety of services and discounts to choose from.
I'm looking forward to trying this one out, although I've got a couple other of titles I need to finish up first. I never played the original, so it should be a good time!

Gonna be grabbing thus bundle for sure. Even though I own the original grim fandango, I would love to have the HD remaster and ease of ability to play. I started streaming this a long time ago, breaking the game down, but a debilitating glitch Made it impossible to finish. Now that will be no more so get ready!!

For anyone who has the original, there is a way to run it FULLY installed in Windows 7 64 bit. You can also customize a gamepad to alternate button layout using Joy2Key.

Re: Together Retro: Grim Fandango
Ok, I started this up over the weekend. I can't say I'm loving it. I can't even put my finger on it. The voice acting seems great. The setting and concept is neat. At least this time I think the art style is nice (as opposed to when we played Psychonauts). But man, this just feels so slowwww to get started. I just got bored and quit after like 20 mins. And it's not that I don't like P&C's... heck, Maniac Mansion is a game I've played through many times. I'm still planning to give this a fair go, but so far my first impression is ultimately kind of meh.
Re: Together Retro: Grim Fandango
I got the GOG version on sale when this game made it to the calendar. I hope to start it later this week. Although Noise's initial opinion has me a bit reserved now, I did enjoy Psychonauts so I'll make it through the slow introduction.

Re: Together Retro: Grim Fandango
The game is quite slow paced compared to other games in the genre, especially the second chapter of the 4. It's charming and witty and clever though, so I didn't mind.
Chapter 2 is definitely the low point for me. The area to explore there is just too damn big.
I loved the game overall though. It was on my summer games list like 3 years back.
