Together Retro 2016 Poll: Fighting Game - VOTE!!!

I never really got the whole "Weaponlord is the best game of its time" deal that infects most the OG FGC. I understand that it had a lot of firsts as far as fighting game mechanics go, but the game feels more clunky and less fluid than it's contemporaries. I've tried multiple times to get into it but just can't. Anytime that game gets mentioned on SRK, it's immediately followed by "praises and blessings be upon it's name" and everyone just falls to their knees and starts worshiping at the approximate location of DJames, and I'm just scratching my head at what people see in this thing.

Hahaha, oh man, I actually agree with you. I think it's ahead of its time in a lot of ways, but that came at a price. But most of the folks on here seem to avoid it at least in part due to its reputation as being brutally difficult. Hence why every year I suggest it at least once.

I see. Well, it would definitely be out of people's comfort zones.

I would have voted for World Heroes. I was actually considering it, but then realized that voting for WH on a list that has SF, VF and GG is like voting for a third party in a US election. You either choose one of the main choices that you hate the least, or you throw your vote away.

Yeah, I have also tried getting Power Instinct in. That didn't happen either.

Hmm... Matrimelee could probably be done, if we're trying to get stuff that is playable online then anything Neo Geo would be fine. Kabuki Klash and Ninja Master's right along with it. Those are the only 'obscure' Neo Geo fighters I can think of, everything else has been pretty well explored.
