One of my friends went through this too, and wound up falling asleep in an upright chair while holding her baby within a few seconds of sitting down. She didn't drop her daughter, but when she came to and realized she could have, she says she truly understood the depths of her exhaustion. Then she got someone else to take over for a little bit, just like you did.

Glad you finally got some rest, Bogus!
I am so happy that I did. I have slept with her in a chair, but it is a recliner that is bulit in a way that if she were to roll, she would go into the groove of my arms. When I say I have slept in a chair with her, I mean, I have slept for a half an hour in a chair with her. I couldn't sleep a long period of time with her, not because of choice though. I have sleep apnea, and she is almost 17 pounds now, which is placed squarely on my chest.

I also have a weird, low hanging xyphoid Process (That bone you do CPR on), which is a very uncomfortable thing to have and having her lay on it is incredibly uncomfortable in a way that is very hard to explain. Kind of like there is a long level connected to your ribs and it is being pushed on. It really stinks and I only found out about it recently when I went to the doctor thinking I had some enormous growth in my chest.

My dad called me from an auction today - they had "old video games" for auction by the pound. You can't touch the stuff, but you could see top labels on some stuff, he sent me a pic - I saw 3 N64 controllers and about 15 games, the rest looked like atari 2600 and 5200. Atari carts are light of course so I told him i'd be ok at $5 a pound but no more. He ended up having the winning bid and was given the option to take 1 pound, 2 pounds, 5 pounds, etc and then they'd start the bidding over after he grabbed as many pounds as he wanted at the $5 price.

He ended up grabbing everything 39lbs worth of stuff. Had I been there I def. would not have grabbed the old ataris and those heavy AC adapters, particularly as there is a strong likelihood a lot of the stuff is wonky. Just picked it up - I know nothing about the atari stuff really, gonna have to check it out. There's at least 30 lbs of atari consoles, cables, and controllers.

No sure if it's a smile or ticked yet - but gambles are always fun.

You did well. Atari is king.

If you get a complete working 5200 w/ decent controllers you've really hit the jackpot. Those are becoming scarce, it seems.

Hooking up this stuff can be a strange experience. If you have a 2600 or 7800 in that lot the cable may be an older type that won't connect to any modern (or even semi-modern) television. Something like this:

You''ll need an coaxial adapter. I prefer these:

Or you may need one of these if you have a system with the "fork" hookups:

The 5200 is a strange beast. It has a "box" with a short RF cable. This tucks behind the TV. There is a jack in the box (haha) for the AC adapter and another jack that connects to a long cable whose other end is hardwired into the system itself. So yes, when the 5200 is hooked up you only see one cable heading away from the system instead of two. It's odd.

Clean those cart contacts before use. Most Atari carts (especially those actually published by Atari) have a plastic dust cover over the contacts. You can expose the contacts by gently sticking the tip of a steak knife (or whatever) into one of the two smaller slots on the side. Just angle the tip a bit and you'll feel the whole dust cover give. You can then push it down (you'll feel some spring resistance) and the contact will be exposed for cleaning.

This is probably more info than you needed. Let us know what you got.

Best system ever if you are into collecting 5+ versions of the same game  . I have 183 Atari 2600 games probably 2/3rds of which are variants.

:D :D My wife and I may have figured out what was going on with our daughter. Yes, she was teething, but there was more to her irritability than just her teeth breaking through. We had been giving her bananas once a day for the last 3 days as part of introducing new foods to her. We consistently gave them to her to make sure there wasn't any reaction to them and we are almost positive that it was causing a bit of constipation. She was still pooping once a day, but it was a bit more solid.

Today she pooped three times and the consistency was back to normal and so far, she has been sleeping peacefully longer than she has this entire time. We phased out the bananas just yesterday and everythign seems to be working its course.

I can't tell you how happy I am that she is doing better!

Also, I love being a parent and obsessing over poop. It is fun.

Lesson learned! Happy baby is happy and all is well in the world. Now if you will excuse me, I am going to go to sleep for the next 72 hours.
