Something thats ticked me off lately is the complete lack of games at thrift shops, swapmeets, and overall good deals in my area :/. Everything is severly inflated price wise and there is an abundance of sports games everywhere. Haven't found anything at all for almost two weeks lol

Sounds like my area, goodwill here is sending all their stuff to their Grid store now that the place has been moved and basically rebooted into a more "trendy" store. Every once in awhile though I've caught something and they'll sell it to me(didn't have the same luck on the slim ps2 I'd found they wouldn't let me have it since it shouldn't of even been out on the floor.... :-\)

:? Should have waited to bring up my possible mental issues until a time when I had a less full schedule. I'm now thinking about the idea, and its making me twitchier and more restless. My sleeping habits have been continually bad, but seem worse this week. I just don't generally feel good. I've also lost my appetite, which isn't good when I barely eat once a day anyways.

And damnit, I'm not really happy with any of my games right now.

I hate to hear this. I suffered similarly in the past. What has worked for me is seeing a few therapists (I have seen 2 or 3 over the course of 5 years), reading suggested books (e.g., Feeling Good, by David Burns), learning techniques to control/soothe anxiety (e.g., "belly breathing"), and ultimately, antidepressant medication.

I resisted medication for a long time. I felt that I could get better "naturally". And although the therapy sessions and reading gave me a lot of theory and knowledge for feeling better, my depression and anxiety was simply too strong to overcome with those things alone. I finally decided to take my therapist's, doctor's, parent's, and wife's advice and try an antidepressant. My therapist put it this way (paraphrased): "If you have bad allergies, you don't have to take allergy meds, but you may as well to get some relief. Same thing with depression/anxiety. You don't have to take meds, but why not get some relief?"

The medication I take is for GAD (general anxiety disorder) and depression (it's Lexapro). I felt better within a matter of days of starting it. I believe that it was a combination of 3 things that led to me feeling much, much better right away: the Lexapro, stopping drinking alcohol (not supposed to drink with it), and being able to apply the theory I had picked up from therapy and reading over the years.

Obviously results will vary, but this course of action changed my life. I am now happy. I have severely reduced anxiety. I laugh more, I joke more, I have better conversations (and I am an introvert), I like life again, I sleep soundly! I'm not scared of irrational things anymore... you get the idea. It is seriously amazing.

I hope you get some relief soon. I fully support you seeing a therapist, and I think it is very important. You should make time for it.

I'm thinking about pretty much giving up on Local stuff outside of the one local pawn chain which is a gold mine in my area. To many resellers buying out the little guys first thing in the morning then bumping their prices up past retail in their shops.

I've started looking for deals online mostly at Amazon and Best Buy most frequently. Amazon Warehouse has some killer deals on occasion if you don't mind digging for them recently picked up Metroid Zero Mission for $14, Mario Kart 64 for $23 and a few other solid titles that were all cart only but in very good to like new condition. Also really been loving Gamer's Club Unlocked over at Best Buy it's a subscription service like Power Up Rewards at Gamestop it costs $30 for a 2 year membership but you get 20% off new games. Which is awesome since they seem to have a nice inventory of niche titles as well as some really nice sales/clearance prices on new items which are down right amazing with another 20% off. Recently netted me complete copies of AKIBA'S TRIP: Undead & Undressed and Dragon's Crown for $9 each.

Oh man, my daughter is having a real tough time with teething. We went from sleeping soundly through the night to not sleeping at all. She will sleep... if we are holding her, but the moment we set her down she erupts into screams. The thing is. She is normally a self soother and her sleeping habits are a complete 180 for us. My wife and I have been doing 2 hour shifts through the night to console her, giving her cold wash clothes, cut up apple to chew in a mesh feeder, teething toys and even prescription medicine to help ease the pain.

This has been a really tough 48 hours with little to no sleep. It is teething and not something else because the doctor ruled out digesting problems and ear infections.

I just her to take a nap after a half hour of solid screaming and she is resting in my arms. Poor thing.

She makes up for it though, as when she is awake and not hurting, she is smiling and laughing at all my goofiness. Just before her nap I was giving her a bevy of cheek kisses that was sending her into a frenzy of laughter that I have never heard before.

I just hate to see her hurting. The lack of sleep I can get over.

I can't even imagine teething as an adult experience. Like if we had teeth erupt out of our gums at some other period on our lives. We would be grumps all the time for that period. I think the only thing I can compare it to is when my wisdom teeth decided to show up late to the tooth party.

Aside, that's crappy Bogus, I hope your daughter starts feeling better. Hopefully the medicine does the trick and this wave of restlessness and duress passes sooner rather than later.
