So I ended up with a used Wii from a friend since they don't use it anymore and we need one for Netflix for the living room. So it was a win win. No games except for the WiiWare castlevania and the tg16 castlevania. Also has bubble bobble on WiiWare.
It's the red 25 th anniversary edition and he took decent care of it. I was pretty happy.
Now gotta look for Mario Bros and punch out and I should be content for a while. Definitely won't be going to GameStop for those games. Gotta settle in my house first and check my budget

I am now only three games away from completing my Wii collection! I need:

Guilty Gear XX^Core+
Pikmin
Pikmin 2

These games can be pretty pricy, but if anyone here is interested in selling a CIB copy to me, please send me a PM!

I contemplated getting the Pikman games on Wii. But then I noticed the prices and decided that sticking to the Gamecube versions would be better on my wallet. Of course, I lucked out and found the second one for cheap several years ago, so that was probably an important deciding factor.

Yeah. That is probably a good choice.

I have the Gamecube versions of each game, but the collector in me will not feel that his Wii collection is complete until he has all of the "New Way to Play!" titles...

The Wii version of Rodea is finally out in NA and it's super awesome. Will it ever be rare/valuable? I thought Pandora's Tower might be, but so far it hasn't turned out that way. Rodea may have a chance to be rare though since we're that much farther past the natural life of the Wii. Anyone "collecting" for Wii needs to buy the game NOW. Anyone that enjoyed the old Nights games should consider it / watch a video. A really neat game. Packaged with the less nice WiiU one in a double case, but comes with reversable cover art for the Wii game.

So besides collecting for my gameroom, how long do you think the WiiWare shop and vc will have on life before no tendo shits it down.
I was telling my buddy to stock up now before its too late

Thought about buying Rodea for Wii as mentioned above, but have a hard time seeing it go up in value enough to be a good collector's item and not thrilled to spend $85 CAD to play the game.

Kind of a shame - looks good, but I just can't justify that kind of money for a Wii game even if there is a (less interesting) Wii U pack-in.

No idea. I bought a bunch of WiiWare titles earlier this year with the same concern though.

When the plug does get pulled, availability will be very limited unless developers reissue the games on a different system - a shame, because there are a handful of very good games that might be gone for good.

Yeah I know right. So besides of getting my gameroom I have been putting 20.00 every other week on WiiWare titles. What was the forum where people listed the must have WiiWare games for the Wii. Tried to look for it.

I feel like there was a bigger/better discussion somewhere, but couldn't find it. There is a link posted there that offered some pretty good quick takes on the available games though. (http://vsrecommendedgames.wikia.com/wiki/Wii)

Not sure how many "must own" games there are - but I'd argue at least a half dozen or so. Fluidity, the Konami ReBirth games, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles all come to mind. I also loved the Lost Winds series.

Love the contra but the castlevania takes the cake and the bust a move a taito are good ones also. Like I told jmbarnes, at least the dk series came back on the snes line.

I have the nes everdrive so I'm all set on that but do the snes, contra castlevania, metroid, ff, any Nintendo first party you gotta pick up fast.
