Hardest Old School Game Ever?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I will agree with Dynamite Headdy. That game gets insane towards the end.

Apparently they jacked up the difficulty for dynamite headdy and removed the ability to continue for the U.S. version. Why the hell did they do that? Didn't they not release Mario: the lost levels for the U.S. because it was TOO hard?

Anyway, when I learned that I decided not to bother trying to beat it in one go and I won't feel guilty about using the level select cheat.

I'll throw my weight behind Battletoads, Ghosts n Goblins/Ghouls n Ghosts/Super GnG, and Dynamite Headdy.

Contra's ultimately a lightweight. I have a friend who time-attacks it on a regular basis.

The original Mega Man is frikkin hard, though.

Third this. One of the few NES games I still own, and the only one of those that I haven't beaten. I've gotten past...1 level in my life.

If you haven't played Silver Surfer check out the review below...it's by the angry video game nerd and has A LOT of bad language, just to warn you.

I was GOING TO suggest Contra, but seeing to it as all the 1337 gamers say it doesn't count I think I'll keep that to myself...

Does Abadox count?
