Not to rub it in, but we're getting a limited physical run here in Europe :P

I've got the physical version pre-ordered (I hope it comes early - my pre-orders usually do).

I haven't played much of the series either. I just have the remake of the second game that they released for the Wii here in Europe and Japan. I haven't completed it though.

I pre-ordered it on Amazon so I got it on launch day, but I haven't played it yet (I've been too busy with life). But, I've been eagerly awaiting its release, and I can't wait to play it.

I'm kinda surprised that I didn't find a thread for this game on the forum, or at the very least, some talk about its release in this thread.

Had it since it's PAL release back in May, but not played it much yet. My girlfriend wants to play it with me so we've been taking it slow.

It's 2 player? I should play it with my wife.

I was very excited about Fatal Frame (aka: Project Zero) coming out until NoA announced that it would be digital only in this region. That killed my interest.

I have a hard drive and could handle the large download... but I value digital content much less than physical, so there is absolutely no way I'd pay more than $20 for the game.

The changes Nintendo made to in-game content are also a minor turn-off - not because I think the underwear costumes add value or were even worth using, but because I think it's silly to remove non-essential content from M-rated games unless it's truly offensive. (Racy costumes might be in bad taste, but they weren't severe enough to modify the game for this region. After seeing Bayonetta get released here, this move just left me shaking my head. They also needlessly edited one scene where the costumes played a role in game.)

I did not know Nintendo had censored the game...

Just googled it and goddamn you, Nintendo! It's an 18 rated game! Why have you taken out skimpy outfits? I happen to like cute, anime girls in underwear, thank you very much, Nintendo!

And whilst that paragraph might read as though I am being sarcastic, I must say I really do despise censorship.

When they don't censor this stuff, you get Kotaku and concerned moms posting online about how horrible those pervy Japanese are. Nintendo probably just doesn't want to deal with the negative press from the puritans.

There's also the question of the age of the girls - even if they are over 18 in game, it's also about how old they are viewed to be. Sure, it may not seem like such a big deal for an 18 rated game, but Dead or Alive Dimensions on 3DS was banned in some countries (including Sweden, iirc) and it didn't have anything as skimpy as that.

Also, considering the western release was announced for Europe first and that Europe is getting a limited physical release, I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo of Europe is handling all of the localization duties, meaning that the American market wasn't the primary market considered when censoring the content.

There's a lot of reasonable arguments for the censoring (is this self-censorship? I know Nintendo is publishing, but since they aren't the developer am not sure if that's an accurate label) but it's something I dislike on principle. In the end, really not a big deal - just an annoyance.

I also think the replacement costumes they put in are kind of... well... they just feel horribly out of place to me. Really? A Samus catsuit with lights on the back? Eh... whatever. It's optional content that I'll never use anyway.

The digital versus physical issue is a big deal to me though. Hugely disappointed in that.

Just play it with the amiibo and it becomes a laugh riot...I swear I've gobbled myself up and made myself jump weird ways using the amiibo it's awkward but funny at the same time if not a huge help occasionally...
