Any reason you didn't want to play the remake?darsparx wrote:Final Fantasy Adventure: Made it to Jadd and have beaten the medusa cave and now attempting to avenge Amanda. This is just getting better and better...
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: RPG Progress Report
Don't own it at the moment...did when I was younger but that's another lost game(idk why). Honestly this version is a lot of fun anyways...especially since statuses in most cases seem to go away on their own anyways too in this version(discovered that on accident somehow)Exhuminator wrote:Any reason you didn't want to play the remake?darsparx wrote:Final Fantasy Adventure: Made it to Jadd and have beaten the medusa cave and now attempting to avenge Amanda. I was under the impression most people prefer the original version anyway.Exhuminator wrote:Any reason you didn't want to play the remake?darsparx wrote:Final Fantasy Adventure: Made it to Jadd and have beaten the medusa cave and now attempting to avenge Amanda. Re: RPG Progress Report
In the FFA case, yeah the original is better but both versions are worth playing.
With most RPGs I try to play the original version instead of (or before) any remakes or ports. Of course this isn't possible in many cases, especially if the original is a PC-88 exclusive or whatnot.

Re: RPG Progress Report
I'd argue that Sword of Mana is different enough from the original to consider it a distinct game. Sort of like how Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals is a remake of the story of Lufia 2.

Re: RPG Progress Report
I say the same about Ys I & II which is why I've played the games on Sega Master System, Famicom, TurboGrafx CD, Saturn, PlayStation 2, DS, PSP, and PC...
Re: RPG Progress Report
See and I don't remember how far I got in the remake but the beginning from what I recall was similar enough to this one(and that's about all I remember). The only major nusicance I have found in this original version so far is how items are selected and used...it feels a little backwards to other systems for using/moving/trashing items.... Though shadow zeros in this version are a pain in the butt and I can never seem to keep my inventory cleaned up enough for some eyedrps....

Re: RPG Progress Report
Play Secret of Mana after you finish FFA. It's an infinitely better game.
Re: RPG Progress Report
Beat Azure Dreams finally (first time ever). I really love Pokemon and rogue games, so a game with both was a surefire love of mine.
Next up is Chrono Trigger New Game+. It's just such a fantastic game, slowly working my way to maxing everyone's stats out. I wish there was a legit way to max out SKILL in the game.
