Genesis game recommendations

Aladdin - much better than the SNES version.

i just beat the snes version of the game and had a blast so im curious as to what exactly makes it that much better?

It's a completely different game, not just a conversion. The Genesis and the Amiga 1200 got the cool version with better graphics (in my opinion), better gameplay and a sword.

well then im definately going to pick up a copy of it. i had no idea

Please exclude the obvious choices that I'll probably already know about (i.e. Streets of Rage, Sonic series, or anything else mentioned on any of racketboy's hidden gems/cheapest games articles.)

What the hell? He makes the hidden gems articles BECAUSE they go beyond the obvious choices.

So far, all I own is Sonic 2 and the 6-Pak cart that's coming with the console. I've done lots of reading so I'm not completely ignorant, but I'd like to get some input from real people whose tastes I can trust.

Because Racket and all the contributors to those articles aren't real people.

Just for the record, I feel that my post was taken out of context. It was never intended to be a diss to Racket or anyone else who wrote those fantastic articles. They've been incredibly helpful, but I simply wanted to hear what others on the forum had to say about it. Hopefully Racket and the other contributors didn't see it the way you saw it, Moz. (And if any of you guys did feel insulted, I apologize.)

What's the best fighting game on the console? (as in face to face, not scrolling brawler)

Way to go through Chase the Chuck Wagon rather than Ebay.

If you don't have a TG16, you should know that Dragon's Fury is the same thing as Devil's Crush.
Ranger X (you'll need the six button controller for this one)

Thanks for the SF2 recommendations, although I probably won't be going this way as I get my SF2 fixes through the Dreamcast and Saturn iterations of Super Turbo (and SSFT2HDR on PS3) and don't have any six button controllers for the Megadrive... was thinking of Mortal Kombat... Are any of these good on the Megadrive? and does anyone know if these handle well on a 3 button pad?

My understanding is that Mortal Kombat 1, is the only fighting game on the genesis that doesn't drop an obscene amount of frames. Its not a system you should be playing fighting games on.
Stick the the platformers, Run n Guns, and Shmups.
