I don't smoke, Uncharted is just that damn good. The story writing, set pieces, the game play mechanics, stage design. The only problem I've ever had with it is usually towards the end they'll start throwing a ridiculous amount of enemies at you to the point of wearing your patience out and that's really it.

Uncharted 2 is in the top 10 PS3 games for sure. The other 2 have some issues that would keep them in the convo for top 50, but not top 3.

The only way I can manage to see Uncharted 1 as a contender for top 3 of anything is to limit the discussion to the top 3 PS3 games released in 2007.

I pretty much put them in the same boat as all the other overrated mainstream crap out there (Halo, Gears of War, Call of Duty, etc.)

That's your loss. I loathe games in that style but that trilogy of titles with the solid mechanics, amazing story written for each, the set pieces to back it up, they're just awesome. A modern day Indiana Jones is how I see them or a similar pulp novel type thing at least. I know that the 3rd had some mushy aiming and the original one was rougher than the two but the PS4 one basically cleans up the first and gives the handling of #2 to #3 to smooth that issue out on that one so it's all pluses really.

I have really tried to get into them though. I've got all three on the PS3. They're just not for me... I'm really not losing out on anything at all.

I like Uncharted a fair bit but at the end of the day they're the equivalent of those summer action flicks I see once and enjoy but don't remember and don't really care to go back to. In fact, I think Uncharted would make a better set of movies than games. The platforming is mindless and the shooting is incredibly stiff. They are quite pretty and 4 looks amazing in the way Uncharted games always have considering the home hardware (look at Golden Abyss for example, crazy looking for a Vita game). However, I don't know that I'd ever put any of them, although a case could be made for 2, in the best games for PS3. The first one was certainly influential in its own way and it certainly has proved to be one of Sony's most profitable IPs. I take it those of us that hold middling feelings regarding the series are definitely the minority.

With that Persona 5 delay and TPP completed I don't really have much of a reason to play my PS4. It's gone back into the closet for the moment.

Finally bought Advance Warfare now that it is sub $20, played through the single player. Was very impressed, I usually find Call of Duty campaigns pretty boring and stiff but the production value on AW was just off the charts, story was pretty predictable but well done. I do not regret my $18 purchase
