Daytona USA vs. Micro Machines is really a thing?

Are the Micro Machines games not just licensed shlock? Wikipedia tells me that the publishers include Camerica, Ocean, and THQ. Not a good sign.

The Micro Machines games are all good, but they are more popular in Europe. Also, the series really has its roots on the Amiga. (Does that fact pique your interest?)

Me too. I've played a ton of Daytona in arcades, but I have never "beaten" it. If we choose this one, I will finally finish up Virtua Racing before moving on to the sublime DC port.
