The Escapist vs the Chris Roberts Empire

Everyone loves themselves a bit of internet melodrama. Backers of the game are being rabid about defending the game using a variety of methods from genuine attempts at refutation to silly logical fallacies that plague the public discourse elsewhere just as badly. What I know for sure is that Chris Roberts isn't a good project manager, and threatening litigation against the Escapist with crowdfunds to finance any potential proceedings is bordering on seedy.

We can revisit this topic when Star Citizen finally releases and discern how big or small a disappointment it'll have become.. Best case scenario it'll never fulfill the original promises and instead provide a competent space sim experience.

I don't know if it is a good idea for us to discuss internet drama.

I mean, when it comes down to it, it's just people being silly on the internet isn't it? Fans get overly defensive because they are economically and emotionally invested in the product and are prodded by the game press, which is at best well-meaning and at worst, kind of clueless. And, ultimately, we are commenting on marketing through shaky predictions, which amounts to little more than gossip.
