So Bethesda released system requirements for Fallout 4.

Minimum calls for an AMD 7870 2GB and an Intel i5 2800 @ 2.8GHz.

My aging AMD 5870 2GB and first gen i7 @ 3.06GHz may not meet even those specs.

But what is minimum anyway? The "low" settings at 1080p? "Medium" settings at 720p? I'm happy at medium settings at a lower resolution in order to play the game.

Better to just get a console version.

Though it doesn't look like Xbox 360 or PS3 versions are being released, which makes me sad.

The console version would be either Xbox One or PS4, both of which I don't own. I don't plan on buying those consoles either.

I'll take a stab at running it on my current hardware. During my tests in the past with other games, I've seen performance boosts when I took the resolution down from 1080p to 900p or 720p.
