Is it even worth it to buy a xbox360 or ps3?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Is it even worth it to buy a xbox360 or ps3?

Post by holaback »

if you already have a good pc? It seems all the hits are getting pc releases along w/ better graphics etc. Other then MGS I can't think of any console exclusives that would make me want to go out and buy the current gen system.

Fallout3
Resident Evil 5
Street Fighter IV
Bio Shock

etc etc.

I feel yes. I built a pc and planned on skipping this whole generation, but i get tired of the constant upgrading and the waiting for some games to finally get released, granted bioshock and Fallout 3 had simultaneous dates. What really convinced me to get a 360 is when I noticed SF4 wasnt coming till 4 months after the 360 version, and Resident Evil 5 is still up in the air with Capcom claiming no PC release will happen. Plus the Xbox Arcade is just undeniably fucking sweet. Ive been playing Worms online like a mad man for the past few days, and the fact that I can set up a party with my friends and easily connect to a game is great. Now these are only my opinions so take it or leave it, and as whether to get a 360 or PS3, thats a decision only YOU can decide lol.

Im still gonna have to go towards the consoles. Believe me, before I decided to take the plunge and get a 360 I HATED the 360, HATED the PS3 and bought a Wii and HATED it, and then sold it out of HATE!..........but then I cooled down and thought of it this way. I had easily more than more than $600 invested in my PC and still wasnt really satisfied with it. Some people might like upgrading parts, overclocking for those few extra FPS, and spending an hour or two tweaking graphics settings to get the best experience, but I just got tired of it and since I had already invested $600, it seems more logical to get a console and never worry about that again. Granted I am glad I built it, cause Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 will rock my fucking world.

Better in all ways except for the lighting engine not being quite up to par even after the official patch. Also all the FMVs are prerendered instead, same as PS2, which means your bonus costumes never show.

Why not? I don't have either of these overpriced consoles, and on PC I get to use any controller I want. Also, we can expect some fan-made costumes, I'll bet you anything. Look at all the player models/skins people made for RE4 on PC, and that game was never meant to be modded. I'm sure people will do the same for SF4. The official outfits in the game already suffer from obvious clipping, so there's no real worry that any fan made ones would clip worse.

I can't wait. And not just for the inevitable nude skins.
