I know I nominated nfs but gran turismo gets my vote too. It's one of the most influential modern racing games. Not to mention the best selling ps1 game.

If we do go with a WRPG, I'd like KOTOR more than most of the other suggestions. I'd still prefer Pogeymans though.noiseredux wrote:this is a really good suggestion, I think!alienjesus wrote:Another option is to go for another European classic and we could play Micro Machines. Tons of ports for this one.
(and you guys saw my KOTOR edit right?)

my only issue w/ Gran Turismo is that each game was on 1 system. I guess you could argue that the first game can be played on PS2, PS3... but something like Micro Machines is on so many platforms in contrast. Just my thought process.strangenova wrote:I know I nominated nfs but gran turismo gets my vote too. It's one of the most influential modern racing games. Not to mention the best selling ps1 game.
I'd also like to remind of my Tomb Raider nomination - or just think about a 3D platformer?

Yeah you do have a point there. And I have a suggestion for the shooter dilemma. Why not have both moh and cod? Cod for the eastern gamers, and moh for the western gamer. That way everyone gets to experience what was big across the ocean.noiseredux wrote:my only issue w/ Gran Turismo is that each game was on 1 system. Micro Machines?
mind.... blown.
In other words, that's a fantastic racing game. It would be a good fit.
As for KOTOR, I just checked and it's in my GOG library, so I'd give it a try.

I am definitely down for KOTOR. It is on my "to beat" list.
My "to beat" contains a lot of classic games, and I have spoilered it below in case anyone is looking for ideas:

Prfsnl, your "to beat" list is in serious lack of a PC section...

I informed him of this.
He told me "I have no PC."
I am paraphrasing a bit.

Ok, a couple things...
Doing a combined month of COD/MOH is intriguing. I don't normally like pairing up titles, but a sort of compare/contrast is interesting. Thoughts?
KOTOR seems to have some legs. So are we in favor of it replacing Pokemon, or of doing a JRPG one month and WRPG another?
And still nobody's voiced any strong opinions on Ack's horror shoutouts...
1. Star Control II (space sim thing?)
2. Pitfall (platformer)
3. R-Type (shmup)
4. Metal Slug (run-n-gun)
5. Pokemon red/blue/yellow (RPG)
6. Oddworld (weird looking adventure thing?)
7. (horror) Alone In The Dark? Shadowgate?
8. Solomon's Key (puzzle)
9. (FPS) Call Of Duty? MOH? Perfect Dark? Golden Eye?
10. Knights Of The Old Republic (RPG)
11. Micro Machines? (racing)
12. Harvest Moon? (farm sim)
^getting better or worse?
