Everdrive N8 GoodNES vs No-Intro

Post by SuperDerpBro »

Hello. In preparation for receiving an N8 i am building a complete USA Licensed set of 677 ROMs. Based on these..

https://www.nintendo.com/consumer/downl ... _games.pdf

I of course own a complete set of carts but don't feel like dumping them all myself.

Last few years I have preferred using No-Intro ROMs for emulators (I know the N8 is not an emulator). I am reading that not all of them work on the N8. Is it better to just use the ! ROMs from the GoodNES set or use No-Intro and try to track down each and every ROM that does not work, and replace them? Are there any ! ROMS in GoodNES that dont work? I am aware of a certain set on TIZ but there are so many errors, dupes, files were they shouldn't be, and random files missing here and there in that pack.

Thanks :)

EDIT: I have GoodNES 3.23b GoodNES 3.14 and No Intro (2015-02-16)

The thing is No-Intro sets are verified dumps; GoodNES not so much. I'm sure whatever doesn't work with Everdrive N8 with No-Intro is the same deal with the GoodNES versions.

Some of the no-into roms are missing headers or something. You have to replace with goodtool roms or patch them.

Looking thought the forums it seems the developer recommends goodtool roms. Most of the complaints he gets are from people using no-intro sets.

Apparently the no-intro FDS sets are full of bad dump.. *shrugs*
