Joysticks (1983)

Post by dsheinem »

This has got to be one of the best songs in the history of music.

The trailer makes me really really really want to see this movie. Anyone ever seen this? Is it as awesome as the trailer makes it out to be?

Is it just me or does the first verse go:
Playing with my joystick
Wiggle left
Jerk it right
Shooting everything in sight

Whoever came up with the lyrics "Totally Awesome Video Games" is a genius.

The movie looks like one of those instances where the idea of it and the trailer is funnier than the actual movie. Unless you're really stoned.

Yeah, I know I'm reviving a dead post, but I found this gem online and had a chance to watch it.

Wow.

This movie is damn awful. Even for a low tier 80's flick. On the lower spectrum of "so bad, it's good". But if you like 80's T&A, you'll be in heaven. The opening song is the best part. This will definitely be playing during my next game night.

I watched the song and I thought "this is hilarious! I have to see this."

I watched the trailer and I thought "this is embarassing! I already have seen this."

Wow, that was a long time ago.

"If you beat me at videogames I'll close down the arcade!"

Way for the trailer to give away the ending. I mean come on, some teenager who owns the place vs. an old guy who can't even program his alarm clock. Who did they suspect us to know would win?

It's much more complicated than that.... I can't believe I just said that.

You'll find some familiar faces in the movie. The lead starlett has played a bit part in every prime time drama or comedy ever made. And my wife recognized one of the "villians" from Lost.
