Reccomend Some Good PCE-CD Games

Post by lisalover1 »

I just got a brand new Duo-R, and I'm ready to play some games for it! Can anyone recommend me some good CD games? My collection so far:
Loom
Ys I/II/III
Cotton
Lords of Thunder
Buster Bros.
Cosmic Fantasy II
Dragon Slayer
Forgotten Worlds

Note that all reccomendations should be for CD games, not HuCards. Also, they can be for any region.

You got some pretty good ones so far. I didn't mind Exile, It seemed like a pretty solid RPG to me. You should get the Gate of Thunder/ Bonk 1, 2 Disk. A lot of good game play there. Here's an image http://i5.ebayimg.com/05/i/001/2c/c3/9e00_1.JPG

Dracula X! One of the best games on the CD. Just make sure you have the System 3.0 card (or a Duo which has it built in).

Double Dragon II kicks ass. Also Nexzr Special for shooter goodness. Splash Lake is a fun puzzler.

In addition to what has been mentioned

Spriggian 1 & 2
Star Parodier
Lords of Thunder
Flash Hiders
Fiend Hunter
Asuka 120% Burning Fest
Puyo Puyo

And join the http://www.pcedaisakusen.net DB!

If you have a Duo-R, check out these Hu's:

Dragon Saber (and Dragon Spirit)
any of the Soldier series
Parodius Da
Street Fighter II'
both of the Crushes
Gunhed (aka Blazing Lasers)
Parasol Stars
Bomberman '94

It's a pain in the ass to get JP Duo's to play US Hu's, but you can still find cheap import PCE stuff.

Beyond Shadowgate is a fun game. It has puzzle elements like the NES one, but it's not from the same 1st person perspective. Get that if you like Loom (it's not as slow paced as Loom). Rayxanber 2 and 3 are good shooters, if you only get one get 3. Finally Vasteel is a really cool Military Madness like strategy game only with Mechs.

And in Vasteel you can choose to either let the mechs fight it out based on numbers or take personal control.
