Re: Hearthstone thread
I had the most ridiculous match I have ever had earlier today.
I was playing ranked match and I play almost strictly priest at the moment, as the deck I have set up is pretty solid and a lot of cards that have synergy together. I was playing against another priest who had a VERY similar deck as mine. First thing he does is throw down 2 Northshire Clerics so he can get cards from healing and then just set up a lot of low attack, high health taunt minions and he buffed the health of the clerics. The cards I were dealt were PERFECT for messing with him. I would set up my minions and he couldn't quite kill them. Imagine the set up, he has 5 minions on his field and I had 4 minions on mine. This happened at turn 5. I had an Abomination out that was hurt, but not killed. I suicided him on a minion, did 2 damage to everyone, then spent my 5 mana to cast holy nova and healed my team, did more damage. He draws 6 cards. I attack with my guys, without killing anyone and just damaging and spent 0 mana to cast circle of healing and heal everyone and boom, there is another 16 cards drawn. I had another circle of healing that I used the next turn and he drew another 10 or so cards and he had no cards at all and a hand full of stuff that he just didn't know what to do.
My strategy? Force him out of cards. Not a typical tactic, I'm sure, but it was hilarious to do.

Re: Hearthstone thread
I pulled a Golden Mal' Ganis on Saturday. Great card...tough to get out in good position; at least thus far. Going to have to work on control more.
Re: Hearthstone thread
That's awesome. Mal'Ganis is a great card and there's a few strategies to get it in. Really great for a character who uses weapons. Almost free board clears are amazing.

you either got a really good card, or this is some kind of geeky gross euphemism.mjmjr25 wrote:I pulled a Golden Mal' Ganis on Saturday.

Re: Hearthstone thread
I have a hard time playing control with Warlock. So much is dependent on timed use of soulfire, hellfire, power-overwhelming, etc...but also so many of his best cards are "battlecry: discard 1-2 cards". Seems that most times I have my finish all laid out...I discard the 2 cards I can't afford to discard.Blu wrote:That's awesome. Mal'Ganis is a great card and there's a few strategies to get it in. Re: Hearthstone thread
I love Hearthstone to death, I really do. I never have the compulsion to get super into proper deck building though. I refuse to look online and see what's competitive and all that. I just build decks that seem like they'll be fun for me. That said, it shouldn't be a problem. However, I find even in casual mode a good 90% of the players are playing the same Hunter or Shaman decks. I honestly have a more fun time and find much more variety in the competition in ranks 25-20. It kind of sours the game a little bit for me.
As such the Arena is the only mode I really play.

Re: Hearthstone thread
A face hunter is easily handled with a few taunts, a couple healbots, or Warrior / Priest. Anything that can heal a little bit, or put up a little obstruction (taunts) will destroy a face hunter.
I used to enjoy 18-22 rank more, but as I get more competitive I enjoy matches in the 12-14 range. My problem is when completing daily quests w/heroes i'm not good with (Rogue, Druid, Warrior) I drop my rank.

So it's been quite a few months since the start of this thread... who managed to make it from April to October now without spending any money?
