Already been watching horror movies for a bit, most recently OG Nightmare on Elm St. at the end of the evening for the last couple of weekends. Still playing Half-Life (hey, it counts).
Main goals are to get into that new Scream Queens show on Fox, play the latest Resident Evil remake, and watch tons more flicks.
Before NoES, I was on a bit of a splatter/torture kick. Might get back to that and drag a few buddies along with me. Maybe check out The Green Inferno. Gamewise, I'd also like to tackle my recently acquired copies of Among The Sleep and Alien: Isolation, plus perhaps Alan Wake from my backlog. (lots of a's there eh?)
Don't know if I'll be able to pull off anything special for the forum this year like the trivia or the Darkstalkers tournament. Kinda got a bunch of irl stuff going on. I'll be thinking though.

Re: noiseredux Presents THE MONTH OF HORROR (2015) (remake)
I'm just gonna toss out Soma and Until Dawn as two games perfect for this Halloween. Soma for some genuinely scary moments and a psychologically disturbing story (I'm currently in the midst of playing it) and Until Dawn (beat it twice and love it) for that campy, teen horror movie, Night Trap experience that's perfect for a party. Both games have gotten great reviews, and Until Dawn has gotten real popular on youtube and streaming sites apparently.

EDIT: I might also add, two great reasons to own a PS4. That library is really beginning to outshine the Xbox

Re: noiseredux Presents THE MONTH OF HORROR (2015) (remake)
Just remembered - this would be a good time to finish Amnesia: The Dark Descent too. I've had the physical version kicking around for some time.
I like how it's still an "Atari game" in some sense of the word.
I'll keep an eye out for it.prfsnl_gmr wrote:You should try the Wii remake sometime. It maintains most of the original's mechanics, and it is a lot of fun.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Gonna try to squeeze D in sometime during October (for TR) as well as...

In honor of Halloween I will try and beat Dracula Unleashed on the Sega CD and then move on to Corpse Killer on the Saturn and then maybe D for the Together Retro, since I've never beaten it.
Oooohhhh and I should so play Enemy Zero on the Saturn too. That game is spectacular!

Everyone should play D it's only 2 hours if you can finish it and if you get stuck the time runs out game over. Might take 2 tries before you complete it or 1 by the nick of time, some puzzles might stump you but they aren't totally illogical. The walking paths might irritate some people as you can find yourself going in a direction you don't wanna go or have been already.
75% of my collection is mostly horror games some I'm gonna need some help deciding, I do wanna play at least 15 of them next month. I'm guessing I have close too 100 titles in the genre give or take.

Work with me here Bone, as I'm going to put the ball on the T for ya:BoneSnapDeez wrote: Gonna try to squeeze D
You're gonna try to squeeze D who?
I've already previously beaten the games I'll play, but that never bothers me. Besides the DOOM 3 expansion pack, which I've never played.
And for personal reference some other games I should throw into my "possible" list:
Luigi's Mansion
Every Evil Dead Game, but start with the Dreamcast one
Left 4 Dead 1 & 2
D2
Alone in the Dark
Twisted Metal Black
Eternal Darkness (probably won't have the time for this one)
Shadowgate
Mutant League Football and Hockey

Re: noiseredux Presents THE MONTH OF HORROR (2015) (remake)
I honestly have no idea about playing horror games. I've gotten to a point where my schedule is like... well, Wednesday is date night w/ m'lady. And Thurs is game night w/ the dudes. And Friday night me and the wife binge watch shows. Saturday night we watch movies. So there's sometimes free time snuck in on Sat/Sun to play games depending on errands, chores, family gatherings, football, etc... BUT basically my only really free nights tend to be Mon/Tues lately. And that's been a lot of Heroes Of The Storm lately.
Having said that, my wife and I do tend to find some time for co-op horror-themed games this time of year. So let me brainstorm a bit...
I definitely would like to play D again. I haven't since like 2012 or so and I loved it. I wouldn't mind maybe checking out Enemy Zero. And maybe the 100% unrelated D4, haha.
Not exactly a 'game,' but we picked up the Return To House On Haunted Hill DVD because it has a choose-your-own-adventure kind of mode. At 7 points in the movie it stops and makes the viewer decide what happens next. So this is basically an FMV game. We'll be 'playing' this for sure.
I don't think that Life Is Strange is exactly horror, but I get the impression it has a sort of Autumn vibe to it? Am I wrong?
OH! A recommendation: For those who haven't played Cthulhu Saves The World, you should fix that. A super short, super charming 16-bit style RPG based on Lovecraft's mythos.

@luke, great picks!
Noise you should play coop Hellboy with the wife, I started this with my wife last month. Looks like it has the Castlevania LOS engine, actually decent beat'm up surprising (obviously not perfect).
Cool about House on the Haunted Hill DVD, I like stuff like that and didn't think about Cthulhu Saves the World nice indie game I need to play, also Costume Quest has to be the ultimate fitting for now time to introduce my kids to RPGs!

I always hear people praise Costume Quest - but aside from who made it, I know nothing about it. Is it an Android game?

^ I'm not going to play this, but I will stare lovingly at the box art for a while...BoneSnapDeez wrote: as well as...
Also, I just picked up a PS2. Thinking about Silent Hill, Haunting Ground, or Fatal Frame.
