Disgaea Infinite is kind of an oddball entry in the series it's pretty much a digital novel as opposed to the standard tactical rpg.
TEKTORO wrote:Supposingly Disgaea games are near infinite so 1 game should be more than enough. I have Disgaea 4 and its PS TV compatible, Sweet :)

As for the games yeah they can drag on forever if your a completionist. I have at least 1 version of all of the main games now only games I don't have are the PS2 version of 2(have PSP), the DS remake of 1(have PS2/PSP), the PS Vita versions of 3 & 4(both on PS3), and the first Prinny psp game.

Smile:

So I started writing a book - actually two. So there's that. I'm also getting a ferret.

I bought an old iMac to play some of the PPC-only games I found in my old box. Going to replay Halo and some Rainbow Six Raven Shield. 8)

Ticked:

I'm absolutely fed up at work. I've been offered better pay elsewhere that will accommodate the schedule I want, and are presumably less of a hot mess, so I'm going to have a talk and see if I can't get my current employer to at least give me the schedule I want. 20 hours a week over two days (and assuming I'd cover for call ins like I currently do). Classes have started up and I have various other things I want to do with my life while I can. 60 hours there is destroying me mentally. The only reason I wont just up and leave is that my commute would quadruple from 10 miles each way to 40 and that would negate the pay raise a fair bit.

I mean, it's one thing if you need to work that much to survive and to those of you that do you have my respect. I would never do it by choice however. I have far too many hobbies that matter far more than standing in a coffee shop 12 hours a day.

Frown: The shit went down at Bible study. Who else can say that?

So in the book of Matthew God shows up in the form of a cloud and scolds Peter and tells him to listen to Jesus. This goes back to Jesus having authority over everyone and everything. This led a member of our group to say "Jesus, not some Pope. These Catholics don't get that Jesus has authority and not the Pope".

People in the South, at least everyone I've ever met in NC knows dick about Catholicism and says dumb things about the religion all the time. It's infuriating. So, I had to drop some knowledge, and all I said was "That's not how all Catholics think".

Those words set this guy off. "Well Luke, since apparently you know all about Catholicism maybe enlighten me". In a very nasty tone at that.

I replied that you can't lump all Catholics together, to which he said "Why not?".

Smile: My boy Elton jumped in and said, "That's like saying all black people like watermelon. I'm black, hate watermelon. Gives me diarrhea. You got your Irish Catholics, Roman Catholics Liberal Catholics, Devout Catholics, just like how not all Baptists are Bible thumpers".

Frown: I jumped back in, "Exactly. Most Catholics believe the Pope is fallible, born with sin, and just a man. He speaks to God, but God doesn't always respond. He's more of a physical representation of faith".

At this point the dude grabbed his Bible and said "You are missing the point that the Pope has no authority".

-"Never said he did"

"Listen! God spoke to us and to obey Jesus and not some Pope"

At this point I felt like I was being attacked for defending a religion that worships the same God as his religion, which is nuts. And then he attacked me a bit with "Your Bible doesn't even have a crease in it. This is a Bible study, so you need to read more of it".

FYI: I spent four semesters studying the Bible in undergrad. Two semesters on the old testament, two semesters on the new testament. If I'm correct, besides other countless silly things, there was never an Exodus, no one really knows who wrote Hebrews, and God spoke to man in the form of a bush on fire, a cloud, and a DONKEY.

Not kidding. Not only does God speak via Donkey, the words: "Balaam has notice of God's displeasure by the ass" is a passage in the Bible.

The guy picks up his Bible, and actually thumps it while saying "If you don't believe this, word for word, you don't need to be here".

So I left.

I consult for his business, or maybe at least I did.

Anytime faith helps someone, I'm all for it. But yeah, if you want me to take a super old book that has been manipulated and edited for over two thousand years...nope.

I've had ferrets a few times before back in 00s, they're really nice animals and fun to have around. They're kind of cat/dog like too, easily trained to use a litter box, and they really like to snuggle up like a cat or play with toys like a dog. They do have a unique smell which is pretty nice too, kind of miss having one around but with an almost 4 year old that's not happening.

Ugh. That man sounds intolerable. With an anti-intellectual attitude like that, he will end up being the only person left in the study group before much longer...

Once I move into my own place I want to own two ferrets and call the male one "Garret" and the female one "Victoria"

Also that dude sounds like a douche. I know where it all comes from but anticatolicism in the US is something I've always found baffling. There are all these really crazy ideas about the Pope and the structure of the Church that makes absolutely no sense for anyone minimally acquaintanced with the religion. It's like when you see those old propaganda posters about water fluorization and the cure against polio being communist plots, it's so out there I'm just astounded

Well, American was founded by a variety of not-Catholics, and many of those sects formed as part of rejecting the earthly authority the Pope had at the time. And those feelings never really went away even as the Pope transitioned just into a spiritual leader. Hell, there were people worried that JFK would just be the Pope's lapdog.

People in Europe have fought wars over Catholicism vs Protestantism, I think America's pretty mild by comparison.

His wife is also President of the company I'm consulting for, so. HE'S THE BEST!

I'm cool with not seeing eye to eye, but the "pass Go and go directly to hell" stuff bugs me. It should bug everyone.

Speaking of hell, anyone reading this should watch Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. Tonight. Or now.

:P : More trouble on the home front  . So my parents divorce is still slowly moving along. As opposed to splitting everything 50/50 my mother agreed to make a list of the belongings she wanted as well as paying her a relatively small sum of money probably about a 10% or less of what he would pay in alimony if it went to court. Plus it would be a slam dunk decision on her side since he has sent her threatening emails, hidden assets, and is openly having an affair right now and has had one prior affair that basically everyone, but my brother knows of as well as quite a few more I suspect :P . Anyways my Mom finally found a house to live in and she asked for the remainder of the money he owed her once his parents estate closes which should be in the next week or so. His response was pretty much a nice big old fuck you and accusations that she had stolen from him and wouldn't get a dime. He also accused me and my brother of stealing his shit  . So now she is upset and she really isn't comfortable with me living here since she is afraid he will do something extreme like attempting to murder me to get back at her(he is fucked up like that and has said stupid shit like he would "destroy everything she loved"). I really want her to take his ass to court and bleed him dry he deserves it.
