You can drive Dreamcast! You can drive me anywhere with your whirring little fan and grindy little gears in that optical drive of yours. I'm going to play some of your fantastic games from your modest but outstanding library.
What are you going to play today to celebrate Dreamcast's Sweet Sixteen!

Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
My Dreamcast has gotten some fresh attention.
Basically, I've been neglecting it because the disc drive sounds like a laser battle whenever I play a game (which kind of freaks me out; that can't be a good sound).
But now I have a GDEMU
(GD-rom drive has been carefully stored away for now).
Been playing fighters mostly (SF3, MvsC2, SC, SSFIIT).
The port of Super Street Fighter II Turbo is pretty good, and possibly the best I've played (combined with a Saturn controller adapter
). Beats the heck out of the version on CCC2 (PS2/Xbox).
Soul Calibur is every bit as good as I remember (even competing well against the more modern sequels).
Canon Spike is awesome. Even if it is a short game, I always enjoy a quick play. Makes me wonder why a dual analog port (for PS3 or something) has not been made.
And I even played some Ikaruga, even though I play it most on Gamecube. The convenient digital alternative of SD cards might make this my new favorite version though.

so, my chipped DC got dealt a heavy blow a month or two back when my roommate was playing it & my kitten jumped over the cables, somehow pulling it down to the ground hard. turns out the drive itself is now dead.
looks easily replaceable, just hoping to find a spare DC out here on the cheap with a good disc drive so i can get it back up & running!

Well today I'm meeting up with someone for a Dreamcast complete with what I think is hydro thunder for ten bucks.
I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it or not. I know I'll never get the collection I onced owned but I'm sure I cam n come up with some cheap favorites. Unless the market spiked I think I can get some decent titles for under ten bucks

Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
Ok so I need some help. Just got the dreamcast. The controller ports are dead. So if there is anyone who can fix this very cheap for me then cool. Other than that does anyone want the dreamcast?
I'll do a trade for a couple ps2 or ps1 games or just give me back 15 for what I paid for it.
Comes with controller vmu and system and power cord. No av cables

Why do you think the ports are dead? If you haven't already, use a q-tip and rubbing alcohol on the controller input and the controller port.
Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
Tried that already and when I boot up the system, the vmu has no response. Also tried another controller.

So this is quite interesting: getting the Dreamcast online with raspberry pi. Could be an end to the BBA shortage, albeit at 56k speeds.
I'm curious about the code and its functionality. Really cool though!

Holy crap, once he releases a tutorial on how to set this up I will buy a raspberry pi just to do this. The 56k speed is a non issue as all of the remaining online DC games support 56k, and all play fine at that speed.Blu wrote:So this is quite interesting: getting the Dreamcast online with raspberry pi. Edit: just did some reading up on another forum and found out that Alien Front Online is well on its way to being back online! I never thought we would get more games online, but we have had a few in the past years!
