Hydlide

About to take on the final dungeon/boss.

Going to go back to Zelda next. My gaming schedule has been funny because I've been busy and my daughter doesn't want me to play unless she's watching.

I'm currently stuck in the Doomsday Portal in Septerra Core. There's a series of minibosses that deal huge amounts of damage (they can two shot the team) and I don't have the energy to try and figure out the right strategy to make it through them.

I put PS3 on the back burner as I got hot on arcade games again. But started and beat Ys I on Chronicles today. Dark Fact is stupid hard compared to the PCE version.

You should see how easy Dark Fact is on the Famicom port (which is terrible by the way).

And your gonna love it, try playing it with a lot of the HUD removed even the map indicator! I do this with a lot of action RPGs if allowed I hate when there is too much distraction from the on screen action.

Also maybe the minority here but Two Worlds has been patched like crazy and is actually enjoyable imo, again with the HUD thingys removed via menu options because I like getting immersed in the game instead of worrying about indicators.

I finally (no pun) got around to beating FFV on the GBA.

I figured since I'm on a roll having only beaten the odd Final Fantasies (III, V, VII) I might as well beat FFI next. I selected Fighter, Thief, W. Mage, R. Mage. A friend told me about the peninsula of power early in the game so I grinded that 2 x 2 square for about 2 and a half hours. Now I'm over-leveled as hell, but since the enemy encounter rate is nuts, I'm OK with that. Game is basic but that's to be expected.

I just restored the Earth crystal. I figure if I only play around an hour a day I will make consistent progress and not get burned out. When I get burned out on a game, I tend to take 6-12 months away from it. And that's not good for RPG's.

I got past the part that was kicking my ass in Septerra Core. Turns out I needed to treat those mini bosses as bosses, and also that MP consumables are cheap as dirt so stop being unwilling to use any. I'm going to have to go heads down tomorrow and Friday (tonight is Magic night) and hopefully finish soon. I've had this monkey on my back for too long.

Got to do it before the next Together RPG, eh?

I've never seen Popo take so long to finish a game.

Speaks volumes about how tedious it is.

I'm still playing Zelda, but I will have Cleopatra no Mahou arriving in my mailbox soon. Excited to try that one out. Actually the whole FDS RPG line-up looks enticing.

I've promised myself that I will finish it before the next Together RPG. So I'm going to push through.

Look forward to my rant in the Games Beaten thread. I've found myself only willing to spend an hour or two and then I need to move on to some other game. And that was even when I was motoring through enemies. It's not like how Cannon Fodder's 8th mission is balls hard so I'm only willing to attempt it a few times.
