Frown: A few of my friends are fighting on fb over the issue in Texas where a kid was arrested for bringing a home made clock in that someone thought could be a bomb. What makes it worse is that they're all lawyers who love to 1-up each other.

Smile: My boy StringBean (real name is Josh) shut it down with "It is a civil and personal right as a child/minor to have your parents contacted before any and all questioning. There is even a Fresh Prince episode that explains it".

Not only did he silence the crowd, he referenced one of the best episodes of TFP ever. It features the singing prisoner, "Yeah, we done it!", and the first time Will says "Word to Big Bird".

Edit*

Frown: A more than dear friend of mine lost his Mother this morning, and I got the news via text of "Grady's Mom died". Classy.

Smile: It seems like an unwanted blessing as she has been in a miserable, suffering state for well over two years. Not sure where he is right now, and for me this is a "I'll let him contact me first" situation, but certainly I'll find out where the funeral will be.

Once told the guy "Grady, If I'm George Bailey you are my Clarence Odbody" as he is a gentleman who will do almost anything to help a friend out of a pickle.
I have a friend who is a lawyer and oh man... does he ever love to debate law with other people. We used to argue as kids in high school endlessly about things so it is no surprise. I will remember that Fresh Prince argument. I wonder if there are more like that out there.

As for your friends loss, I am sorry to hear. I hope he is doing okay though. It is always tough to lose a loved one.

:P : Dad volunteered to watch our neighbors chickens while they went to the beach. He of course then took off on a bike trip for the weekend without telling me or them. So I offered when they came over to show him how to do it this afternoon. Gonna have to wake up at 5am tomorrow so I can get them fed/watered before I take off for work :P .

:) : At least I get free eggs out of the deal, but way more then I can use. Maybe the dog will get some scrambled eggs as a treat.

Smile: Father is recovering and not at risk to harming himself. Significant other is in treatment for her addiction. Job prospects are looking up. Planning on getting a few teaching certificates and will be saving up some money and selling my car to purchase two one way tickets to Cambodia. Have a friend that will put me and my girlfriend up until we get our own villa and vacation until we start working. First time in about three years I'm truly excited for the future and what it holds.

More smiling: Several Racketeers have messaged me with words of encouragement. I've been a member since 2008 and although I rarely post, I can easily say the people on here are some of the warmest individuals I've spoken with digitally or otherwise. Thank you :D

Probably told this story before

but when I was young I asked for Yoshi's Cookie for Christmas. My mother thought I was talking about an actual food product so she went to the grocery store and inquired about it.
