Re: The Super Mario Maker Thread
Cheers, fellas! I mainly got the game to play other people's levels, but I can definitely see the fun in making levels, too. I wish I could go back in time and give this game to my 10-year-old self. Just thinking about all that time I used to spend designing Wrecking Crew stages or even the meticulous create-a-characters in the N64 wrestling games, having this back then would've been a blast

Cheers man. And I know what you mean, I would have loved this as a kid and I probably would have been better and more creative too. I was the same with N64 wrestling games. I used to love creating stuff in games.EllertMichael wrote:Cheers, fellas! I mainly got the game to play other people's levels, but I can definitely see the fun in making levels, too. Re: The Super Mario Maker Thread
I am loving everyone's levels! Great work so far!
Almost finished up World 1 for Super Waluigi Bros. I am sure that once I get all the tools, the entire world will be redone, but I have been really happy with what I have had so far. Almost have the Super Mario World stuff and I can't wait to dig my teeth into that, although I do think that will be the world I will work the least with. I never beat that title in particular and never really enjoyed the Cape and how it worked mechanically over other powerups like the tanooki tail.
But yeah, making the boss fight for Super Waluigi Bros. and have been diverted, since my daughter woke up from her nap and its time to eat!
Any tips or suggestions for my levels to improve them? Any criticism is appreciated. Let them rip!

Re: The Super Mario Maker Thread
Is this game a reason to purchase a WiiU? Everyone seems to be drooling over it, including grown men and babies.
Re: The Super Mario Maker Thread
A reason alone? Hard to say. Come back in a month's time and see if everyone is still drooling over itLuke wrote:Is this game a reason to purchase a WiiU? Everyone seems to be drooling over it, including grown men and babies.
But if you'e talking about this game +
Bayonetta 1 and 2
Mario Kart 8
Super Mario 3D World
Splatoon
ZombiU
Rayman Legends
Super Smash Bros Wii U
Wonderful 101
etc.
Then yes, you need to buy a Wii U

All I can say is that you'd have to try it and see what all the hooplah is about. IMO, if I didn't own a Wii U already, this would have definitely pushed me off the fence.Luke wrote:Is this game a reason to purchase a WiiU? Everyone seems to be drooling over it, including grown men and babies.

Okay guys, this is it. This is the best level I've made yet! This is my crowning achievement. I think I really used alternative routes and doors in a creative and interesting manner
Please go give it a try and tell me what you think (don't forget to star it if you like it).
Thanks.

Re: The Super Mario Maker Thread
Got the game this evening. Thought I'd play for an hour or so. Ended up playing for four hours instead
I ended up making one level based on the tutorial level: You'll Never Get All The Coins: D41F-0000-0028-3D47
After that I spent the rest of the time on the 10 Mario Challenge and playing other people's levels, including six of Reprise's (I gave stars to all of them, even the ones with those damn jumping blocks that I loath, don't worry
). I think I have a cramp in my hand due to a couple of them. Seriously, screw that airship level, my hands hurt
BTW, Reprise, some of the one's I wrote down earlier came back as "Can't Find Course," so I assume you replaced them?
I wrote down all the other codes listed so far, so once you upload something remember to put it up and I'll star it... assuming I can beat it
Does anyone think we should be listing the codes on the first post? Just a thought.

Re: The Super Mario Maker Thread
Haven't gotten the game, yet, but imo, if Ziggy or a mod on his behalf can, that'd be useful. Share a list of the services best overall levels, best levels not mentioned, best levels by users here, and maybe best levels for teaching. Ambitious (and easy for me to say), yes, but that's exactly why I suggested another user make this thread- right now, I couldn't be able to be as informative and up to date as someone like Ziggy with the flash cart thread.Michi wrote: Does anyone think we should be listing the codes on the first post? Re: The Super Mario Maker Thread
So these long codes are needed to share levels? Kind of hoped Ninty had figured out online stuff by now. No?
