Dragoncon 2016

Post by KalessinDB »

We're under 2 months away and I just got my plane tickets so it seems more real now. Anybody else going? I know last year I had vague plans to meet up with fastbilly, but between underestimating just how large the place is and grossly underestimating how fast my phone's battery was going to die with constantly seeking between 3g/4g/no service (yay overloaded towers!), it didn't happen.

I'm more than happy to meet up with any fellow Racketeers. Last year I seemed to spend most of my mornings/afternoons at various science tract stuff, and most of my evenings/nights just wandering around soaking it all in with a big stupid smile on my face and a drink in my hand. I've been told by my friends who have been there multiple times that that's exactly how most people experience their first year (the nighttime wandering bit)... and for the most part how they experience their second year too. So that's probably what I'll be doing again this year. Would love to meet up for a chat/drink/food/whatever.

Edit: Thread bumped by fastbilly, thread title updated ;)

Sadly we were not planning on going this year. If I go at all, it will be a Saturday night showing in the foodcourt.

So Saturday night foodcourt looks to be go in my book. We can try to meet up if you want. I will have my wife and several other unrelated to gaming friends milling about.

I likely won't be able to make it. My mother is moving that weekend, so I will be in Alabama.

Works for me, billy. I'll pm you my number this time so we're not trying to do this entirely through here. I'll likely be on my own but there's only so much gaming talk you can do without electronics nearby, eh?

Anyone else likely to be in attendance?

Heh pretty awesome. I did not see Mr Lockjaw, but to be fair Saturday was my busiest day by far.

Great time this year, fastbilly's a very cool guy, looking forward to next year.

I actually saw Mr Lockjaw as I was getting on the escalator at Marta on Saturday night. It registered as I got on the elevator and when I turned to look for him, his entourage was already around the corner.

KalessinDB proved my theory that when you meet someone you have known for a while at a convention randomly, you will bump into them atleast one more time before it is over. We ran into each other a couple times. Stand up fella. Much better than that Ack guy.
