Ya I thought about that after I posted. Makes sense and I'd rather have that than the alternative.ninjainspandex wrote:I was reading that this is intentional, to make things not a robotic and more realistic. Maybe the guard will check out a noise one time and another wont and will be too afraid.Snatch1414 wrote: -I think the AI is a legitimate step up, although I personally find it a little inconsistent at times. Maybe it's me but I've played a ton of Ground Zeroes and quite a bit of this and I'm still not 100% sure about what will and won't trigger a guard's reaction and what that reaction will be. Still, overall it's well above par and maybe better than anything out there right now.

So I saw at Target there's a deal for a free Ground Zeroes when you buy a copy of Phantom Pain. How does the content transfer over/are there redeemables that make that worth it versus buying it used?

Ive gotten the AI to the point where they are wearing night vision goggles and wearing helmets that make headshots harder (I am 14 hours in and have only used the tranq gun) I agree, the AI keeps you guessing, sometimes they shrug off a sound, sometimes they come and fully check it out.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V
So, I've read some spoiler-free (thank goodness) comments that the story does pick up in total Metal Gear fashion right towards the end. I'm happy to hear that.
If I'm not too tired after work I'll start sinking my teeth in again. I also have a few days off.
Anybody know how long its taking to get through the game with moderate side-op completion?

I have literally just opened the option for doing this, I have been taking it pretty slow I guess.SamuraiMegas wrote:Send out your combat team on ops to destroy supplies.jay_red wrote:Ive gotten the AI to the point where they are wearing night vision goggles and wearing helmets that make headshots harder (I am 14 hours in and have only used the tranq gun) I agree, the AI keeps you guessing, sometimes they shrug off a sound, sometimes they come and fully check it out.

40 hours is the number I keep hearing. Which would make this the longest MGS by far.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Anybody know how long its taking to get through the game with moderate side-op completion?

Not sure whether I'm annoyed or happy about that number. Certainly getting my moneys worth I suppose.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V
I still stand by my original comments which were basically "great gameplay, everything else is kind of a mess". This is the most long-winded, drawn out story of all time. Other than for base-building purposes there's zero reason to do side missions. The vast majority of them are infiltrating the same bases you've already seen or will see.
I've been playing the game for 20-30 hours and about three things have happened in the story. Almost every "main" mission boils down to "Something illegal is happening somewhere. We think Cipher's involved!". You go and do the thing you're tasked with doing, Kaz says a few sentences about it, and then the next mission is usually of the same variety. It's a wild goose chase, aka the story is terribly written.
Like I said, it's a good thing the gameplay is awesome. My patience is growing a little thin though. I played the game off and on all weekend just waiting for something interesting to happen and it never did. I hope they're finally done throwing new base-building mechanics at me too. I'm pretty much beyond caring at this point. I have a zillion staff members and it's all just blurring together.
