At highest level, they activate instantly, which gives you a fantastic enemy canceller. You can pretty much keep bosses from acting the entire fight if you play things right.
TENSEIKEN SLASH!
So gratifying to hear that shouted midbattle. That and it being heard in the same voice actor as Leonardo from TMNT as a kid, makes it even more awesome.
Yea thats a good one..Millenia/ELena..Millenia ( same actress who voices Ariel) though her role is somewhat limited is also great seems like she had fun with it....Bet you'd like this, You Pig! lol.. Lnk Below is voice sample..

I wouldn't say its the preferred version. The LB compilation port was handled poorly by SNK and perhaps one of the biggest let downs in the entire PS2 Neo Geo Online catalog. If I recall, the games in the LB collection are emulated, and rather poorly. As a result, everything looks and feels off. The games runs very slow more often than not. Sure, DC version of LB2 has its own set of problems, mostly dealing with censorship. Luckily the JPN doesn't suffer from this.
Yeah but that would be the only way to play last blade. Unless I get another Dreamcast in which I don't want to do again.
Tackling Evolution the first part. Charming game although i can already tell its a bit repetitive. Not to bad of a game. I read that Part 2 dungeons were even longer and they removed the Temp Save after each floor. So that is why i went with Part 1 lol. Its no Grandia 2 but it does hold some value.
Yeah with titles like Evolution it becomes evident how small of a pool the Dreamcast RPG scene is.
Excellent Tier: Skies of Arcadia Grandia II Elemental Gimmick Gear Phantasy Star Online Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 (I know PSO is more of an action-rpg, but they're still RPG's to me ^_^)
Very Good Tier: Silver Record of Lodoss War
Average Tier: Evolution: The World of Sacred Device Evolution 2: Far Off Promise
Poor Tier: Timestalkers - Need more votes to move beyond poor tier.

Time stalkers is so terrible. I got it as a gift back in the day and tried my best to play it but nothing about it was fun. Random dungeons and when you complete your dungeon, your level resets, what's up with that?

Same. So I traded it in for next to nothing. But it now seems the game is worth a reasonable amount on Ebay? Part of me is kinda gutted in that respect, but it really was a terrible game.
Own: Sega Mega Drive, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Playstation 1, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, PS Vita, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Nintendo Gamecube, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Xbox 360
You all is crazy, Timestalkers is awesome! That weird, start at level 1 mechanic is not that strange. Even some games coming out now still use that system.
You had monster raising via VMU. The VMU is literally a tamagotchi that boosts your captured enemy's skills and abilities. There are tons of creatures you can catch and they all have VMU images and animations.
The game is a love song to all the great Climax games out there. You have Nigel from Landstalker, Pyra from Shining in the Darkness and Lady from Ladystalker! The game is better than you all know and it needs an honest chance... I need to beat that game some day.
