Play non-violent puzzle platofmers like Braid, Donkley Kong (94), Fez, Teslagrad, or Toki Tori. They are incredibly relazing. (Fez was almost hypnotic.) They aren't too long; you can take your time with them; and you can play them at your leisure.

two words for y'all: Cities. Skylines.

Actually yeah, there are a variety of simulators which work for this, from Sim City to Euro Truck Simulator. I find the Civilization series pretty relaxing too on lower difficulties, though on higher you start getting into conflicts much quicker.

I picked up Banished a while back and haven't given it a proper go yet, but I may try it out soon.

Yep, turn-based strategy games and stuff like Euro Truck are great.

Lately I have been looking more at games for handhelds that fall into the super-relaxing category. Various lifestyle factors make it easier to spend more time with a handheld these days.
Have: Sega Genesis, SNES, Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Atari 800XL, PC, N3DS XL, Wii U, GBA, Xbox One, Switch

Want: Games!!!

Medievil, the first two, and Fallout. The simple turn based, click and wait is a refreshing change from faster paced games.

Team Fortress 2, for sure. It's the reason I have put over 2200 hours on it

Weirdly enough, most of my favourite games are very demanding and tense so I hate playing them when I'm tired

Cool thanks, the very last UK track is so much fun because it's the only track where you have a chance to lap the entire field
