I'd still hit it :P

I dunno, there's something about the Game Boy titles I can't seem to get into.

I tried Legacy of Darkness around the time it came out and enjoyed it enough then. Different stroke for different folks, as they say.

It's a shame, but I really wish more game developers would take notice of this particular criticism and devote more time to the gameplay aspects of an experimental title. It's fine if you're trying something different, but don't forget that if a gamer isn't having fun, they're not going to grasp and experience what you're trying to establish because the majority of gamers will just give up and play something else.
The issue I have with Castlevania 64 is that I've tried this. I've spent the 5-10 minutes, only to get to that same part and never get any further, mainly because that jump is impossible to make. How DO you get past that second switch, where the bridge sections you jumped across lower back into the water (I'm NOT looking it up in a guide).

Also, I lack an N64 memory card, so even if I get anywhere, I can't save.

You climb down the platforms that scale down the cliff.

edit: Here is an accurate representation of what it looks like.

If I remember correctly, you can grab hold of ledges by holding the jump button.

Practice climbing on the first set of platforms you get on.

Problem is, I don't even come close enough to do that.
