Re: Racketboy Summer Games Challenge 2020 - begin when ready
@lordb0rb4: Aww, thanks for the solidarity. I hope you and your family stay safe. @prfsnl_gmr: I've only played DKC, but the way you got sucked into DKC2 is really intriguing. I hadn't realized it was much different! More research on my part is clearly needed. @CFFJR: Sadly I get all the Personas co...

Re: Racketboy Summer Games Challenge 2020 - begin when ready
Hey folks. The Summer Games Challenge remains my favorite Rackeboy thing ever, and I'm trying to get out of the coronavirus dumps enough to participate. I'm going to go back through and read all these posts to try to get fired up. Hope you're all having a blast so far. EDIT: All right, I'm back. So ...

Re: Retro Gamers Age
Been really admiring Bone's epic necropost. Same. For the first few replies I thought I was losing my mind. I see BradTemple87's comment, completely overlook the obvious birthday year in their username, and have a mental record scratch over "I'm 24, and most of the retro games I know are aroun...

Re: Any1 Using RetroAchievements? - Achievements on Emus
I use RetroAchievements sometimes, and I love it. For me it's 80% about giving myself an extra challenge with games I already love, 20% a way to understand the inner workings of a game's programming. I've learned new things about some of my favorite games that I never would have known otherwise. Ecc...

Re: Coronavirus pandemic - how are you affected?
Reporting in from southern California. It's been both heartening and upsetting to read everyone's posts. I'm sorry for everyone who's out of work, who's struggling with childcare, who works as or is related to someone at the front lines of the medical response right now, who has had someone pass awa...

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I never thought this would happen, but my husband and I are considering changing our internet package to one that includes cable for the first time in eleven years. We are doing this because I am loving the heck out of AEW, and their weekly events require TNT to view. Since it's been so long, though...

Re: Racketboy forums’ Summer Games Challenge 2019
You know you can't resist the siren call of that sound board you installed. It's true. I've spent the evening reading through the Ultima V literature at a slow and thoughtful pace, and I feel myself getting super thrilled to dive into Britannia again. I'm surprised by how much I remember about the ...

Re: Racketboy forums’ Summer Games Challenge 2019
Nice job, pook99! Vectorman completely baffled me. I played it for maybe ten or so minutes some years ago and couldn't even figure out what I was looking at, much less what I was supposed to do. If memory serves, I kept walking into walls thinking they were background and never made it past the firs...

Re: Racketboy forums’ Summer Games Challenge 2019
Regarding Xanadu and Ultima, check this out (via Wikipedia): "Origin Systems founder and Ultima series creator Richard Garriott flew into Tokyo to have a meeting with Nihon Falcom about having Origin release Xanadu in the US, as well as having Falcom help with releasing a port of Ultima IV: Que...

Re: Racketboy forums’ Summer Games Challenge 2019
Popo, Maru, Sarge, thank you so much for the tip about macros. In re-reading the manual I can see how it was trying to tell me that programming macros would set my characters' attack order in stone, but the statement wasn't quite direct enough for me to understand its full meaning. After reading tha...
