Re: "Retro" reviews by youngsters...
I guess after thinking about it some more and looking at the posts, what is should come down to is that a good review is a good review. An older douche bag with bad facts is equally annoying as some pesky kid with a misplaced sense of fake nostalgia and a bad attitude about sprite-based graphics. Wh...

"Retro" reviews by youngsters...
Does it bother you when retro reviews/articles are done by folks who weren't alive during the time period they're reviewing or writing about? This isn't anything new and I've noticed this a lot on YouTube and in a bunch of miscellaneous user contributed websites over the last few years. It's just to...

Re: Getting my NES to run is a massive pain
It definitely could be a problem elsewhere. Dirt in the system could cause problems. The NES10 chip could surely be the culprit. A friend of mine replaced his 72 connector a few months ago and it still gave him the blinking screen. He couldn't figure it out until he reopened the NES and discovered t...

Re: My goal to collect Gameboy and N64 variations (help needed!)
As far as the Gameboy Light systems... In addition to the ones you list, I know of two Famitsu editions (one that was available via mail pre-order limited to 500 I think, one that was available at a Famitsu "event," limited to 5000). Both of those are clear or "skeleton." Additio...

Re: GBA->TV adapter roundup
Hey, thanks for the very thorough review - very helpful! I think I had asked about this a little while back. I have a GameCube with the GameBoy Player, but wanted something that was portable for when I'm on the road and want to hook up to a TV. While it isn't perfect, this might be worth picking up....

Re: any "Neotropolis-like" services for other systems?
Hey, thanks for the feedback on this. Yeah, Ryan's stuff is awesome. I emailed and PM'd him on here earlier this week, but haven't heard back. His work is exactly the level I'm talking about, but I think he's pretty swamped as a result. I guess if someone's good, they're going to be busy. Just wasn'...

any "Neotropolis-like" services for other systems?
Neotropolis is a company that specializes in Neo Geo modding. They do incredible, clean work and have impeccable customer service. When you interact from them, it's essentially like buying from a luxury car lot from what I've heard - it's not cheap, but they go all out. You can check them out at neo...

Re: What are some good Turbo-grafx/PC-Engine Games?
Not sure if you're into action RPGs, but Ys Book 1&2 is an absolute classic. Dracula X is amazing, though spendy - but worth it. Dragon Slayer is a good turn-based RPG (and is, for all I know, the only one available on the system). Lords of Thunder is pretty incredible also. Street Fighter II', ...

Re: PC Engine RGB/SCART to HDMI?
Hey thanks for all the info. I was sort of skeptical about any noticeable improvements in picture quality. The system hooked up with the basic yellow, white, red cable (that's component, right?) looks great. Thanks again for the input guys!
